That’s a red flag right there. Tells me he’s out of his depth and has NO philosophy. Being a chameleon on O and D sounds good, but you’re unlikely to be good at either (they’re not) without a core philosophy on how to operate. Are they a running team, a passing team, a ball control team, a bog play team? So they attack the QB? Play suffocating pass defense? Do they tied yardage but shit it down in the red zone?
Without an identity, NO GM can get the kind of players to create a cohesive effective unit. Without that, you’re just randomly acquiring talent with no rhyme or reason- and that’s exactly what’s been going on here.
Couple that with poor player evaluation (internally as well as externally) and you have complete crap. That’s where we are at .
This far into year two, we should be seeing what kind of team (on offense and defense) Judge wants. I don’t think he knows, which is a fatal condemnation of him as a HC. Unfortunately John Mara isn’t smart enough to recognize he fucked up- again!!

The Giants SHOULD have been smart enough to realize that if they ran it 3 times and didn't make a first down WFT would have close to 2 minutes and a timeout left. Easy enough to figure out before running any plays. Which was ample to get into fg position.
Knowing this you really need to go for a first down because a three and out is not helpful.

if Saquon finds a crease and gets a first down, the game is pretty much over.

in that particular game the offense was playing really well and the defense wasn't. First down and game is over. the NYG have a running QB so it's possible to run plays with run/pass option to try to get beyond the sticks to win the game OR go down and burn clock if it's not open.

In the last 2 weeks the team has generated like 30 or 40 first downs, most of them via the air, even with all the injuries? If you got a do-over in a future game wouldn't you want the coaches to go aggressive for that first down? Or would you trust this defense to get a stop?

You have to remember though that with all of us posters- we are not held accountable for our beliefs. SO the easy answer is to go for it go for it go for it. If it fails the poster doesn't lose his job. He can continue to say "go for it" throughout the season and after any fail he can say "This team sucks" with no consequences.

Like another poster on here who dislikes Jones and he said he would draft a QB every year until he gets an elite QB. It's easy to say when you sit on your couch and keep getting non-elite QB's that you need to wait on then waste another 1st round draft pick. And then another etc.
