Anyone watch it? Thoughts? I'm thinking of watching it, but it's 4 parts so I wanna see if its worth investing time into.

Thanks!
If you lived thru it

Who is not a baseball fan would want to watch it.
Not a Mets fan, but enjoyed episodes 1 and 2

Back in the 70s and 80s the Yankees and Mets weren't rivals, but the fans were. There were fights in the schoolyard over it. I had to run home the day after the Mets won the World Series for wearing a Don Mattingly T-shirt to school.
So....

I just finished Episode 3. I lived it, it's been awesome to watch. Lenny Dykstra is a train wreck though....

35 minutes into Episode 1. Is Dykstra drunk? I'm not kidding. He sounds completely sauced.
Not a Mets fan but we got WOR down in South Jersey..

..and the Mets were good, so I watched a ton of their games.

Great documentary, I'll probably watch again for the stuff I missed.

Amazing how when they went thru quick highlights I could name either the opposing batter or pitcher.....couldn't do that today.

I guess baseball cards and Baseball Digest did that to me!

Good watch, Dykstra is out of his mind and Ray Knight was awesome.

On Lenny... I kinda feel like he has crossed the threshold from being a pitiful mess to now being more of an endearing, burnt out Ozzy Osbourne type...

The what could have been with Doc especially is the most tragic part, IMO.

I was only 2 when in 86 but I've read a lot of books and watched VHS games from that World Series...wish I had lived it..must have been incredible...

Also jealous that Mets haven't had that type of heart and grit in a long time. Noah would have fit in as a true gamer but that's probably about it...
To build on last post...

David Wright was a great Met and a great player...don't get me wrong...

But if a guy tried to break Santana or Backman's leg like Utley did to Tejada (I'm talking the 1st time in 2010 he tried to do it with the Phillies, not the time he succeeded with the Dodgers), Ray Knight probably would have sent him to the hospital..
