Seems to be a lot of distain for the guy? I don’t recall any past issues with him. I may have missed it? Or is this just BBI member’s being miserable as usual?

They probably had somebody tell them in an annual performance review "you're not exactly the person I'd put in charge of my fleet's next five-year mission"
I remember watching that episode in the 60's. In that episode a landing party beamed down to a planet and contracted a virus that caused them to age rapidly. The special effects they used to show the crew aging were excellent even by today's standards.
Ever since I watched that episode I wondered what these actors would look like when they actually aged over the decades. Of course I had no idea in 1968 that Star Trek would be the cultural phenomenon that it has become. As it turned out William Shatner today looks nothing like the older Kirk in that episode, although the older Leonard Nimoy did look like the older Spock in that episode.
Now the real William Shatner, more than half a century after Star Trek has gone into space. This is an explanation point on the incredible phenomenon that is Star Trek.
Have a great trip Captain Kirk!
Very cool! I believe Shatner was invited was de Vries or did he have to pay? Either way I know it was a bucket list item for him so good for him.

and Glen de Vries is actually a friend of mine.

I believe he paid, and they referred to him as a customer during the launchcast. Should be catching up with him in a week or two.

Na, actually people said he is super nice if you meet him in an airport.
Remember you are only as nice as your last interaction.

Shatner isn't exactly the nicest or most gracious of "stars". Then there's the whole dead wife in the swimming pool thing.

I'm not talking about some randos that ran into him. I'm talking about his colleagues.

They're all assholes, so what is new?
Who cares
His wife drowned in a pool while he was away. This you point out as a reason people are negative about Shatner.
What am I missing here?
