So far at LT since the season started :
293 snaps
1 penalty
0 sacks
I get the excitement we now have on KT's play the last 2 games but RS is a beast at LT when everyone thought he was just a OG.Barring injury RS is going to be an all pro LT IMHO.
but with how toney looks, i don't think it's fair to criticze the trade down. let's see what that pick turns into next year and if aaron robinson is a good player (remember we used the bears pick to trade up and get him).
No becaise their offensive line is young and the Giants wanted them to develop as the starterz, most they were going to do was add depth
Overrating their young prospects has been a problem with the last two regimes. A better starter is a better starter versus looking for holes to fill...
What if the Giants come away with an OL equal to or close to Slater with the Bears 2022 1st round pick? Slater would be player RT or G with the Giants with Thomas set at LT. If Peart locks down the RT job then the Giants will be in great shape as they could land the top Guard in the draft with one of their 1st round picks.
Then the Giants will have a great young guard to go with their dynamic young WR Toney. Slater is good but I would still prefer the trade without a doubt.
We needed a pass rusher or a MLB who's a difference maker. We got Azeez at two and a bunch of other crap on defense. Why is our 3rd and 4th picks not on the field(I know injury) like our 2nd last year? Not that I have much hope for them as our evaluation sucks, but honestly, we haven't had a imppactful defensive pick in I cant remember how long. I like Dexter and he's gtting double teamed a ton, but thats it. His specialty is getting double teamed. Bakers gone McKinney is JAG, every linebacker we've taken in the last 10 years seems to be JAG or worse. We haven't picked a decent edge since JPP. We pick CB's like they're apples and they rot quicker than bananas.
RE: RE: I said all along during the draft that Slater was a OT
but almost all the BBI draft experts said he could only play OG. WRONG!!!
I really liked his versatility. Slater can also play C along with G and T.
You can never have enough great OLs. That's what Slater is trending to...
This team has many holes so I do not understand why you want just Slater over Toney, the Bears 1st and 4th round picks next year, plus the 5th round pick they used to trade up for Aaron Robinson who we haven't seen yet.
If Toney was struggling I would understand but we saw how incredible he can be last week. Thomas was playing incredible prior to his injury and apparently many have given up on Peart already just as they did to Thomas after the NE preseason game.
I am as tired as the OL struggling as you are but I would much rather have Toney plus those two picks including another first that could be used on a young stud OL.

I get your POV. Toney is a dynamic player.
But finding high level OLs is one of the hardest things to do in the NFL. And with five crucial spots, I'd rather add the top OL prospect, especially because the hit rate is very high in the first round for OLs, and get a WR later.
I'd feel better about this team right now with the bookends of AT and RS than having Toney. I would bet Jones and Barkley feel similarly...
RE: Didn't Andrew Thomas have a good game vs Garrett last year
Thomas locked Garrett down last year. One of his best games. Garret had 1 pressure vs Giants a year ago, he had 7 on Sunday vs the Chargers. He has also been excellent against Chase Young. I don't think this was a Thomas/Slater post..I think the stimulus for this post comes off the heels of the Dallas game..where our already injured line lost the services of Thomas and went out and had their worst game of the season by far(against a team that's the gold standard for stockpiling offensive lineman).
Fixing the Giants roster feels like playing whack-a-mole.
Bonn be one of those guys. “I told you so. “. Sorry couldn’t help myself. Seriously never understood the game the could be a top 5 pick. They were a play off team last year and upgrades at quarterback.
Defense is for real too
RE: RE: Giants weren't gonna spend another high #1
I know.
An odd post about from the OP.
Anyway, so far Toney looks great and I was big on getting Slater.
Yep. That's the joke.

1 penalty
0 sacks

I wanted him so bad during the draft.
You can never tell sarcasm from stupidity on BBI.
Agreed.
That probably should have been the pick although agree difficult to pass on the extra #1 next year.
Jeremiah did.
I loved him anywhere on the line.
Statement like that alone almost confirms that OL should have been the pick.
:- )
Because our OL is that good?

I guess political posts and me don't mix.
Much like football posts and you don't...
And then while you are banned you create dupes...
And then while you are banned you create dupes...
As mentioned, I shouldn't allow political content into my posts. That was a mistake.
What's your excuse for bad posting?
