Well NYSC in Mahwah (Wyckoff border), I think Quest ran the tennis courts.

Ha, so check it out. It was Quest fully before NYSC bought out the Gym portion. I used to work and personal train there before they sold. Joe used to come in and train (well actually a bunch of Giants used to come in there), and he had his own professionally calibrated weights and bar. I (or one of the other trainers) used to have to hump it all out of the back when he came in to lift...lol. You are right he was an amazingly cool person. And I have known some inhumanly strong people, he was easily and far and away one of the strongest.

Too funny, I wonder if you and I ever crossed paths there... lol. I think I stopped working there in 93 or 94.

I'm not surprised, Joe was built like a tank. I only went there when it was NYSC, and I was a member from '97 - '20. Most of my time was in NYC clubs and White Plains, but used the Mahwah facility on weekends or when working from home.
What an incredible 2 years he had

Probably the best 2 year stretch of any Giants back.
He was unstoppable.
One of my memories as a kid in the early to mid ‘80s

At games with my dad and hearing Bob Sheppard say “Ball carried by Morris.” Before that it was Carpenter. Good memories hearing it as I tried to quickly pee and get back to our upper seats. Loved Little Joe.

Gotcha yeah, when I knew him it was his last couple of years before he retired. He was playing with the Browns and Belichick at that time. He would literally do 15-20 rep sets of power cleans with like 365 lbs...lol. He actually started me on my powerlifting trek... lol. What a great guy, and great memories I have of that time. A bunch of us would typically end up at Jimmy Reid's down the hill after work.
he still lived in jerz
