Even if he is following his directions to the T and has no mental errors, we could find another player who can do that while also having a role on offense or defense making a bigger impact for our team. Ebner makes too much money to just sit there and be the punters personal protector.

Ebner was not in training camp and not on the first 53 man roster. The Giants had to cut a player who likely busted their butt in camp to make the team just to sign him. Ebner was awful last year when he was forced to play actual reps on D.
When the team stinks and the fans think the Head Coach is playing favorites with a player, that player is going to be a source of criticism whether valid or not. I don't know why Sam Beal is still on the roster either, but I know we wasted a 3rd round pick on him.
Are also only on the roster for special teams. As well as drafting a Brightwell, mainly because of special team. This team invests too much in special teams, especially considering when was the last time we saw a special play. Did anyone else notice the pathetic on-side kick attempt last week.
