Rams have a very good DL, and our OL is a mess. Thomas looks very good, but he will likely be playing injured. We also can't generate any pass rush. Stafford will likely pick us apart as a consequence.
tends to focus on the first read way too much in red zone and they all seem to be routes that are low percentage. Him and Garrett need to get together and figure out some better routes and check down options.
It is unbelievable how many players constantly get injured.
Well... I mentioned in a thread a while back that I am not confident Toney can stay healthy playing on our turf. With all of the injuries we have on this field (and other teams complaining about it too), it is inevitable. Especially the way Toney plays with the sudden stops.
The Giants have some of the pieces in place to be a good offense, but the pieces that are missing are fatal flaws.
Is one of those pieces scoring touchdowns instead of settling for field goals?
Unfortunately, without Toney or Galloway playing, I have zero faith in anyone getting into the endzone...barring a Jones run. Maybe Booker will surprise me...he looks like he's running hard today.

Blah blah blah. Injury excuses are the most pathetic thing. They never score with their players healthy. Same old same old.
There, against the best IDL in the game, I’m spreading it out and going outside. Gotta be smart too with Jones’ head. Don’t like the call but I like that they went for it. Why the fuck not?
team and you see your guy on the OL getting abused, take him out the OL gets better, and then out him back in to continue getting abused. Where is the logic here ?
Toney out, it's even more important not to play Solder. He's so easily beaten, and without Toney the Rams can feel even more confident about their pass rush.
We have a guy named Eli Penny who is without a doubt our best short yardage option and we never use him. Last week it cost us our QB and today a key first down!

There is where you want to spread out the defense, run a play action, or blow the D Line off the ball. I think everyone saw that QB Sneak coming as soon as they lined up.

When Judge doesn't go for it he's a coward. When he goes for it and they don't get it it's a bad decision.
That is NOT the time for a 4th down attempt. Still in Q1 on own 40 with a lead. Not to mention potentially giving it back to a high powered office.
Oh no... you cannot go there. This entire website has been all over judge for not having the balls to go for it on 4th down. If anything, they SHOULD go for it more often considering the offense they are playing against.
But we’re in this fucking game. Let’s go Jones! This Rams defense is still in west coast time or something. The offense needs to get some points. Gotta get get some TDs.

LFG Big Blue!
we are in it sure but who is scoring for us? you think we shuttung them out? we have nobody who can score. engram is a joke and shep is whatever
problem is that we need to play mistake free in order to win a game against a high quality opponent like the Rams. But we've already had a drop by Shepard, a failed QB sneak, and a near disastrous fake punt conversion. And Solder being beaten on almost every play.
but those were both coverage sacks on 3rd and long. Stafford stood in the pocket for a pretty lengthy period of time before going down. This 4-man pass rush has not been good at all today.
Don’t understand why we keep running up the middle

Agreed. Nobody from the Edge is getting even close.
sense than away from him. His super power is his quickness and ability to penetrate. However he's not that big, so in theory a OL player should be able to push him straight back. Worst case he goes around and takes himself out of the play

+2. Scheming to stop Williams and Lawrence shouldn't be that hard. Seems like an easy halftime adjustment. Also agree that Stafford held the ball a long time on both sacks. Good coverage, but we need edge pressure, and we're not getting any.
Rams drove ball right back, effortlessly, despite 1st and 16?. Garrett and Judge are coaching like the Giants can’t afford to lose. They have nothing to lose. They’ll go back to establish the run again.
looks lost in coverage. Maybe it's from inexperience, but he's not reading the field correctly. He's being abused when he does cover correctly. The rest of the secondary isn't much better.
Engram was standing still and then at the last second he broke to his right while Jones was expecting him to stay where he was. HE called it the exact opposite
There is always miscommunication with Engram and Jones it's not a coincidence anymore
OMFG! We can’t catch a damn break for once. This is getting reminiscent of the year Jesse Palmer ended up finishing the season as the starting QB. IIRC a high percentage of the team was injured that year.
At least there's a little bit of hope that the Giants at some point do well in the draft, but there's no hope that the NFL would improve in terms of injuries.

this is exactly what's happening and its putting alot of pressure on the rest of the group. McKinney might need to sit.

It's not worth it now. Go spend time with your wife, Kids, dog, or car.
absolutely abused, and then couldn't even fall on it. Why not give him help since that was his first play at LT?
You cannot be serious about feeling pressure in 1/2 second.
That is not on Jones.
Both can be at fault. He still doesn’t feel the rush. Can’t turn the ball over like that.

Yeah that is a bunch of bullshit and the announcers are morons.Every QB in the league fumbles on that play. Jones wasn't holding the ball long, Peart got beaten like a drum and Floyd whacked his arm causing the ball to come loose.
Announcers focusing on Jones ball security are idiots
And 9……at the bye…..any chance they install new GM to get ready for draft, and possible #1 draft pick?
October is actually pretty late to bring in an outside GM for the next draft. On the other hand, if they're promoting from within, they can do it anytime. I'd prefer they clean house in the front office at some point, but the ownership likes to be "comfortable" with their choices, which seems to mean lots of cronyism and no accountability.
feels like 28-3 knowing that we have this Oline the rest of the way. Plus having to rely on Pettis, Johnson, and EE to make plays.
You simply can't make this up. The luck of this team is unbelievable. When we do get good draft picks they get hurt. Sign a legit #1 WR he gets hurt. The defense shows promise in 2020 and adds talent, and they regress in 2021.

The only way a QB doesn't fumble there is if he is staring at the DL, which of course a QB can't do. He needs to be looking down the field and going through progressions.
This play is exactly why have a good LT is a priority. By design a QB will not see this
Rams will paly prevent D rest of way so there players

Mara and NYG are loyal to FO clowns. While Gettleman treats players like replaceable cogs in a wheel. Mara needs to grow a brain, learn a little bit about football, stop relying on Mara-whisperers, and make AN intelligent decision or two. He has enough money and free time— yet is CLUELESS.
Hiring a Fossil for GM, a ST coach who nobody would have ever hired as HC AFTER two HC failures after two years each, hiring Garrett, putting the personnel into family’s hands. This just stinks and we are the laughingstock of the NFL and should be
is a "fly" WR. The OL can't give him time to get down field. I agree that Jones now looks skittish, likely because he understandably doesn't trust his OL in pass protection. That is definitely on DG.
it makes no sense. Its like what, 8 of our starters now?
Happened to Coughlin for years, and we ran him out of town for it.
On a team that's been so bad for so long I think the skill guys get caught trying to do too much every play. Instead of making a solid play they end up swinging for the fences every time they touch the ball. Problem with that is clearly injury rate sky rockets. Same deal a few years back when OBJ and the rest of the WRs went down.

Your comments really are 100% correct. Mara will never learn. He has destroyed this team.
This team is a shitshow. Everyone should be fired at this point including Judge who has been exposed this year
not many teams are going to look good missing all their key offensive players, 3 of 5 Oline and QB of the defense. so maybe take that in consideration.
dont be stupid... if they did not have the guts to go through a tough training camp, then we did not want them on the final roster anyway. They did us a favor

They're 1-4. The injuries happened last week. They weren't good enough 4 weeks before the wave or injuries.
RE: Trying to understand what Board brings to this team
Got bored and turned it off but I hear Daniel Jones turn the ball over twice? I know mean boy go t e r p s making people angry out there by telling the truth?

Gettleman isn’t going to fire himself, Mara needs to be embarrassed. People like Mara who’ve never accomplished anything in their lives aren’t going to be proactive about anything.
but the play design seemed designed to ensure there’d be four defenders there. Quite why Engram and Pettis(?) were standing in line separated by about 8 yards of depth is baffling
But I don’t blame him….. I with this line it’s about survival
everyone should be able to see this. He has zero time to throw and garrett is scheming comeback routes...the rams were going to jump a route eventually.

Jones keeps locking onto his primary option. Defenders can’t be allowed to keep reading him in key situations like a book. He’s got to play the defenders off his reads and progression a bit.
Any Giant fan at this debacle should just get up and walk out and not return. Just leave the place filled with RAMS fans so Johnny Boy and his his entire organization of losers can enjoy the stench.
Why does he have these receivers run so far in front of the ball? It’s like every route the receivers is no where near where Jones is throwing the ball.
What do you mean then what? That's not valid criticism. This team is headed to 1-5. They stink.
ever try motivating a group of young employees when their leaders are all gone? You lose peoples interest and they are harder to manage (coach)
but slow minded football fans dont think of scenarios like that.
Also the optics on firing managers and coaches mid season play against the hiring of new coaches the following season.
Who the fuck wants to work for a company that will fire you the middle of a big project and not give you the time to improve.
so yea lets fire everyone and let the players run the assulym and no coach or GM will want to come here in 2022.
Oh stop. They were losing games when everyone was healthy. The excuses are pathetic. It’s not like they were good and suddenly sucked when injuries occurred.
Watch the highlight packages. Play after play of receivers being hit in stride running downfield. Every gd target the receiver is making his way back to the LOS. Open it up!
It’s unbelievable how bad this team is right now! The fans will most likel Start heading for the exits at halftime. Rams fans will be left cheering in the 4th quarter!

I would agree with you most weeks, but we can't block the Rams for anything longer than a 5-yard pass play

that might be true in the real world, but in the NFL there are only 32 head coaching jobs. and head coach prospects probably have a similar opinion regarding Judge and Garrett and think they can do better. and you can hedge by giving a longer contract.
I turned off the game at the end of the 3rd - first time I can remember ever turning off a Giants game. They came back to win. I'm going to stop watching at the half. Either this will cause a come back win or I won't see a pathetic loss. Either way, good for me.

the fact that DJ stares down his primary receiver?
Ok I'll bit on this. We have seen a lot of times this season that Jones looks off dbs, and goes to the 2nd and 3rd receivers. However to do this you need time to throw. Today however, in the 2nd quarter after Thomas went out and Toney limped off, Jones is only going on the 1st read. This isn't good, and is likely due to the fact that he isn't getting time and doesn't trust the OL to give him the time to move on. In short he is skittish because he knows he will get hit (quickly). I'd like to see him do what Lamar would do here, look at the 1st guy and if he's not open then run. At least that would give the Rams something new to think about. But I bet he's been told not to do that because they don't want him hurt

Who said anything about the players running the asylum? They suck too. This isn't a "big project". The defense was built to compete this year in the eyes of management. They are loaded with high-paid guys who are not performing.
If you're still buying the garbage that this is supposed to be a rebuilding year, you're gullible as hell.

Agree. Receiver, line and QB all look completely lost.
Could we afford go through this again next year?! That’s a very real possibility given the scheme, coordinators and lack of execution
Great question.Myself, i have 11 more games to watch to decide that, but if I keep seeing this week after week, I suspect it won't take that long.
As an aside, I've tried to remain open minded about Gettlema, taking all things into consideration. At this point I'm fairly open to a new GM next year, I'd prefer it, and that means he gets to pick his HC.I'm indifferent to judge.

Okay so how do young employees respond when their leader performed poorly on their first two projects, and they’re not confident that their assignments have any reason behind them…
You only keep a coach around if you still think they are “the guy”. Otherwise you try and find the next head coach.
There are only 32 jobs in this league, not many people will pass up a head coaching job that’s just silly

Strikes again. CJ Board thinking he has to hit the home run ball every time he fields the kick off. Now his season is done.
RE: Let's be honest here. Is any one really suprised?
Idc if I get killed for this but these last few years have really killed the love I had for this team. It never gets better and now it’s constantly embarrassing and even unwatchable. Loses are whatever I can handle that but when you look like you don’t belong on a field w/ the teams your playing there’s a much bigger problem
Just to change the subject- Mahomes is having a horror show so far
Coordinators have not helped this team IMO, but players are also not executing. Also they are very undisciplined, Redzone coring worst in league, injuries to 9 starters! This is very very very ugly!
DG and JG are probably gone. But this is a football team that is unprepared and barely playing. His poor coaching in the first few games set the tone. Amd Graham is not am NFL coach.
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: these calls for DG to be fired
And some poster are still trying to defend this garbage. It’s unbelievable.
This team certainly sucks from owner down, including bird dog Jones. He misses throws, bird dogs receivers and just does not make winning plays especially in the red zone. For those Jones defenders on here, who no matter his inconsistency and history with this team, it's time to conclude he will never win a superbowl with his play. As Parcells stated, "you are what your record says you are" So far, no signs of being a front-running QB. For this year leave him in and look for other options next year.

no I was referring to firing the GM and coaches mid season.
and calls the plays during the game. It is like a walk in the park for him. They set up situations to take shots which we can not do and seem to be incapable of. Even with our world record setting injury pace for our players on offense we are at a huge mismatch smarts wise at the coaching level.
We had eight in coverage, and the Rams were definitely going to force the ball down the field with 10 seconds left and a 28-3 lead. They also get the ball to begin the second half.

is exactly what Mara and Getts will tell you after the season. They will NEVER admit they are so clueless its not funny. These are the dark days of "the Wildnerness part deux"!
This is the most dejected I am as a Giants fan. We just stink amd have stunk for a decade and it’s sickening how it doesn’t change. We are a bunch of fools, hiring a fossil like Gettleman, hiring a ST coach, having Chris Mara actually make Football decisions. John Mara is the absolute worst
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: I had hope with Thomas and Toney playing..
That one was not his fault. The fumble and first INT were completely on him. You know, the two that put the game out of reach.
The fumble? really? The one where the LT completely whiffed and then couldn't fall on the ball that was right under him? Gotcha.
That’s the one. The one where he held the ball and didn’t feel the pressure and didn’t secure the ball.
He basically had 2 seconds, couldn't even get to his 1st read. QB's never see this coming because its on the blind side, hence why LT's get paid big bucks. The only way a QB sees this is if he is watching the DL and not the WR's, which obviously he can't do. You see this hit happen a lot and its always a 50/50 fumble thing. IMO this is completely on the LT. If a QB sees this coming he would be benched for not looking downfield
and both Jags and Dolphins are 1-5. I think the Giants will end up being the top drafting team. They might just end up again with the first or second pick in the draft at this point. Is there anQB even worth taking this year? Or do the Giants bring in a veteran to compete with Jones? So many questions right now and not enough answers. I can almost guarantee someone is getting fired this year, if not more then one. Judge might get another year with possibly two new coordinators?! GM will also take heat and should. Fans deserve some ray of sunshine going into next year,

LOL! So now the expectation is that every time Jones fumbles --someone on the Giants is supposed to recover it? And the fact is they have been recovering them all year but, still you are not going to recover ALL of them.
Has not played well. But, to me putting that fumble on Jones does not compute.
He does have a tendency to hold the ball too long, and pat the ball, and in the danger zone you have to be more cognizant that your time may be limited.

It’s just a mixture of ineptitude, lack of talent, horrible injury luck, horrible coaching, awful team building strategies, lack of any conceptual philosophies, and lack of any semblance of a vision for the team going forward.
But hey, let’s not fire anyone. Possible GM/coaching candidates might not want to interview here. Optics or something.
There’s nobody left….. this defense is what’s giving me nightmares how can they be this bad? It’s like all 11 guys are waiting for someone else to step up and make a play

Well this isn't the most dejected I've been recently; which tells you how bad this team has been these past 5+ years.
Heck, I'd say there's a built-in excuse if you are in to those things with the injuries. Maybe I've lowered my expectations so much, that this isn't rock bottom for me but a shade higher.
The injuries no way excuse how bad the Giants are and have been for years. We are headed for 1-9. They also don't excuse bad tackling, blown coverages, and a total inability to pass block by our tackles.
Jones looks skittish. He's throwing very quickly, and the Rams know it. They are pressing to the line, which is tightening his throwing windows even more. That having been said, his first INT was a dreadful decision.
There is still no edge pass rush. Nothing from Carter or Ximines. If Williams and Lawrence don't get through, we can't get a sack.
McKinney is completely lost in coverage. He doesn't know his assignments, especially as the play develops.
Crowder can't cover at all.
More dropped INTs.
DG was brought here to fix the OL, get some edge rushers, and find Eli's replacement. He certainly hasn't done the first two. The third is unknown at this point. He's also spent a ton of draft picks and money on a secondary that is frankly awful. He has to be fired.
What we should really be talking about is GM and Coaching prospects
An NFL QB has to feel pressure, not see it. Any QB seeing pressure isn’t looking downfield.
He knows he has a below average LT and the ball has to come out quickly. If the first read isn’t there he needs to sense the pressure and move off the spot or secure the ball. He stood there with the ball in one hand and waited to get impacted.
I am not absolving Peart of being beaten like a drum on that rush. It is a horrible play by him. But Jones can’t stand in the pocket with the ball unsecured, oblivious to the reality around him.
I want to see what the front office and coaching are doing behind the scenes and see how much of a shitshow it is 1st hand . Expose it to the world
So you think we will be exposed when our offense goes up against our defense in practice?
When you see how they coach , how they make decisions in the front office , how the scouts do their jobs . There is something extremely rotten in this organization and it's not just Judge and Gettleman
OF course but realistically that will never happen so next best thing is for him to start holding people accountable including his Family or should i say Especially his family
and just wants to see more of that. The McKinney pick right before half was a solid signal that the defense is turning the corner. A lot of positives to take away.

you are not going to see anything on hard knocks... it is a reality show
sure.. knee jerk decisions. Exactly what we need right now.
Please tell me this is a joke. Please
This team is getting it's shit beaten out of them today on their way to 1-5 and another lost season , and 19-51 in the last 5 years for the worst record int he league and firing someone is knee jerk ?
or McKinney were faked out of their jock on that cut back run.
The Rams are just running down our throats. They aren't doing anything fancy. Just trying to shorten the game so they can go home. They have a long flight.
RE: Casinos may just stop taking bets on giant games
is the way forward. And for the love of god, keep Ernie Accorsi away from the search process for a new GM.
Need to get rid of everyone named Mara, all the scouts, and anyone else involved in the decision making . Completely start over like an Expansion team in the Front office
they still need another guy on the line however. Shelton is pitiful. LBers are a freaking joke and Martinez can’t be the only LBer on the team. Secondary is looking lost out there and safeties not helping at all! It’s a D that needs to be added to and I’m also not sold on the DC.
On another note, how does Mara sell the fans on another year of this? I don’t think he can?!
If it’s a ridiculous blow out the Giants might fire Gettleman. McVay wants the Giants to suffer. So he kicks the field goal. Probably told Donald to take the half off too.
The Panthers and watch the team play real football for the coach that was too expensive for our cheap owner, znd don't give me tge bullshit he wasn't coming here, he would gave if our owner would gave went after him. Instead he gets duped by a clueless piece of shit head coach who was never a head coach but came at the right price. It's time for fans to get pussed and stop the bullshit. This is a piece of shit organization that has nothing going for it because of a stubborn owner that refuses to admit this is lost.
It's absolutely on the Maras for trying to hold on to the past..
Reese should have gone with Coughlin...Eli probably should have gone then too...it was time to start over. But the Maras figured the longer they held on to the past the better they'd look in the future..even bringing in DG...it didn't work out.
and both Jags and Dolphins are 1-5. Fans deserve some ray of sunshine going into next year,
The Lions will have the first pick. They might go 0-16. Their best hopes for wins are at Pittsburgh, at home on Thanksgiving against the Bears (maybe the Thanksgiving mojo will help), and Dec. 26 at Atlanta. They are getting shut out by the Bengals at home today. Say goodbye to Thibodeaux.
I can't tell whether Jones is just having a bad day or is still affected by the concussion, but if he throws another pick or fumbles again, he should probably sit, yes.
He's been great all year...a coincidence that 7 days after he was stumbling all over the field not knowing where he is he has his worst game of the year?
He needs to play and learn from this. Eli also threw 4 INTs in a game before. Jones has 3 and a fumble today! Jones problem is that he’s staring down the receiver and getting it out too slowly. Easy pick for the CB
That didn’t have shit to do with staring down the receiver. That was a bigger problem that I don’t know what to call. The defender was there the ENTIRE time. How did he not see him?????
his two picks are a consequence of his concussion last week or not, Jones needs to sit the rest of the day. I still say he shouldn't have even played. Not after the hit he took last week. But he absolutely should not play again today.
Hopefully he is just off due to his concussion and he will be better next week but today was not good
Doubt it. Doesn’t take much with him. Even if you like him, you have to ask yourself, is he a super bowl qb? Is he exceptional? Unless we are good for mediocre.
very bad today. And it’s not just about not having time. He’s throwing the ball straight to defenders. Not sure what that’s about. I thought we were past that.
It’s not his fault that Jason Garrett designed a route where there are defensive backs on the same side of the field as the receivers. Do you guys even watch other football teams? Terrible play design.
This site is incredible lol. He can’t count defenders because of the concussion?
That was one of the worst interceptions I’ve ever seen thrown on any level of football. He had a clear view of the defender and receiver and threw it anyway. Concussion after effects sounds like as good an explanation as any for that.
Jones is really good, and no data or information will ever change that deeply held belief. There are only two data points they see - good plays by Jones and bad plays by everyone else.
And I guess now we have a concussion that the experts think is cleared that really isn’t.

I don’t think he’s ever thrown one like that before. There’s no explanation for it.
He may have cleared concussion protocol but he is not
fully recovered, He is not a robot, His decision making in reads and throws is affected which comes with a concussion. Prior toi this game he only had one pick,,,now 3. its the concussion

Hard to argue those concrete stats....I just don't see many good plays by anyone else. Can you enlighten me? It's possible I missed some.

Exactly.. Look at his play calling it's so predictable?? Plus give Jones a break dude just cam back from a horrible concussion, he shouldn't even be playing??!

No I can’t. There are no good plays being made by anyone today. Leonard Williams maybe.
This team has very little talent. The line sucks and everyone sees that. The defense sucks and everyone sees that. The QB sucks but some on here seem to think he is playing a good game today.
You all act like concussion management is a straightforward process...
It is an inexact science. The line between hard hits and concussions is a little arbitrary. The Dx can be subjective. Concussions are something the NFL can point to so that they can say they are doing something. There is a ton of damage from regular hits.
Jones just isn't right today. Having BBIers speculate it may have something to do with getting knocked out a week ago isn't outrageous.
Jones is also without all his WR's and his offensive line has been ass today. But yes this is all Jones fault...LOL
People that think just because you are cleared to play after a hit like that really must have never played football...he is probably still a bit concerned about getting hit again (that is being human). So maybe he is trying to get the ball out even quicker.
There are a number of not surprising developments with this offense:
- Barkley was slow to warm up, then got hurt again
- Kenny Golladay misses time before and during the season
- Nate Solder doesn’t belong in the NFL
- Will Hernandez doesn’t belong in the NFL
- Kyle Rudolph look and old and slow because he’s old and coming off foot surgery

Hard to defend him today...but this is easily his worst game of the season and he's surrounded by shit. I get wanting your QB to elevate your team...but how high can you elevate a pile of shit?

Staring down a reviewer is not a result of the concussion when he’s done it his whole career.

That was a bad one too last week. I think the Giants were wrong to play him. That type of concussion knocked out QBs in the old days for weeks when they didn't have much of a protocol
very bad today. And it’s not just about not having time. He’s throwing the ball straight to defenders. Not sure what that’s about. I thought we were past that.
based on the rest of this season, I sincerely doubt he's recovered from the concussion last week.
He had one INT going into today, and it was a hail mary.
He's not right, and I can't believe they are sending him out there in this situation.
Not to many teams can pickup that and cover it. That was light years beyond Giants coaching staff comprehension lol.. I really wish the Giants actually had offensive coach like Rams..
“What I’m about is an old school physical mentality. We’re going to put a product on the field that the people of this city and region are going to be proud of because this team will represent this area. We will play fast, we will play downhill, we will play aggressive. We will punch you in the nose for 60 minutes, we will play every play like it has a history and a life of its own, with a relentless, competitive attitude. We will play fundamentally sound, we will not beat ourselves. That is our mission right here… It’s a tough division, it’s a tough division and the city is full of tough people and they expect to see a program, they expect to see a product, that represents them. I’m going to do everything in my power, every day, to make sure the people of this city and this area turn on the TV or sit in the stadium seats and are proud to say that we’re their New York Giants.” ― Joe Judge (January 2020)
This is like leaving in a pitcher to get his brains beat in. Not sure what message Judge is trying to send by putting a guy in who is struggling this badly.
when his Oline doesn't block and his receivers can't catch.
But otherwise he is awesome? Great analysis. The guy never wins, and rarely ever plays well, but because everyone else sucks you just keep waiting for everyone else to get better.
Assuming a QB is good despite any objective evidence is weird, but you do you.
I don’t give two craps about Daniel Jones. I care about the Giants and right now he is absolutely part of the problem with this team.

+2. But it's difficult to believe that staring down receivers is because of a concussion. I simply don't think he should have played. His concussion last week was too severe.
RE: I can agree with the point that Jones looks like shit

The line isn't blocking. The receivers are falling down and dropping balls. Jones is having a bad day. All these things can be true at the same time, independent of the others.

Right, this seems much worse than the usual Daniel Jones staring down receivers. He is throwing the ball to defenders not even jumping his throws. They are right underneath the receiver.

Thunderstruck is a resident troll. don't feed the trolls
But he is throwing it to Rams directly in some cases. He hasn't done that all season. 2 TOs before today. I just don't think he is right. Nor do I trust the supposedly independent neurologist.

Because it's not a discussion with you...you are literally saying I said Jones is awesome. If you can find a post where I've said that, show me. My entire argument is that you have a QB on a rookie contract and we can't put any talent around him.
Please teach me Mike from Ohio...everyone on this site really respects your expert opinion.
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: I can agree with the point that Jones looks like shit
Herbert just got sacked, by like three Ravens. No fumble though. How did he do that?
Every NFL QB fumbles when he is hit. I just read it here on BBI. You must have seen something wrong.
Not all hits on a quarterback are equal, Jones has been hit plenty without fumbling this season, his two fumbles today are fumbles for any quarterback, but you already knew that

Got bored and turned it off but I hear Daniel Jones turn the ball over twice? I know mean boy go t e r p s making people angry out there by telling the truth?
been waiting until game 6 for this?
He's got enough in his backlog. Plus, he fumbled in the first game.
GO GIANTS!
Like Seattle last season
You know what is going to happen and you can't wait for it to be over.
Stop fucking up defense!
Let’s fucking go Big Blue!
Board has no USE on this team.
Something is wrong with me.
You too.
7 yards in end zone!
Nate Solder!
Can we fire everyone at the first commercial break?
SB46 celebration.
Can we fire everyone at the first commercial break?
It’s a complete mystery!
Never understood the hate over the Booker signing. There was a reason why we brought him here...
The OL is dominating.
Solder already out.
insane...
Yup.
by a Giants WR? probably not. most other players catch that.
Most of it is play calling...
the Pettis and Shepard drops had nothing to do with that?
Yup. Also hate throwing long on third and short, which we almost always do.
Another red zone failure.

Injury Updates: WR Kadarius Toney (ankle) has been ruled out. OT Nate Solder (finger) will return.
We did a pretty good job running the ball too. But losing Toney really stings
I thought the opposite he threw it too high to shep and oo hard. Jones looks like a big league QB on that drive , much better than last week

looked fine on that drive. The Pettis drop wasn’t really a great throw but Shepard absolutely should have caught his.

No way. It was right through his hands. Shep has to catch that. They don’t get any easier than that.
Well... I mentioned in a thread a while back that I am not confident Toney can stay healthy playing on our turf. With all of the injuries we have on this field (and other teams complaining about it too), it is inevitable. Especially the way Toney plays with the sudden stops.
Peppers is not a corner. He should not be covering Kupp. It is a mismatch in their favor. We should be blaming Graham.. not Peppers
I would not be surprised if Rams fans purchased my tickets
Coverage gave pass rush an opportunity to get there.

And looked what happened on first down. Solder gave up pressure.
He’s beat every play. They can’t see that? Unreal.

Everyones been screaming at Judge to go for it in 4th all year. He finally did and they didnt execute
So is the interior. Several times they’ve blown their assignments as the Rams mixed in some stunts.

When you QB sneak behind a line that’s getting abused inside, your QB is coming off a concussion, and your RB is moving the ball well … yup.
I agree. First burst got it.
Felt like Pettis could have done a better job trying to get the first. Maybe I ask too much.
Well the defense could've bailed them out but nope. We don't do that here.
it's maddening

This is unfair. Jones is healthy. He’s playing. You don’t coach scared or with that kind of mindset.
And he got the first.
That's what I would have hoped for.
Why let them stack the whole line.

That is NOT the time for a 4th down attempt. Still in Q1 on own 40 with a lead. Not to mention potentially giving it back to a high powered office.
Looked like he yelled watch for the fake before the players went out to the field.

That is NOT the time for a 4th down attempt. Still in Q1 on own 40 with a lead. Not to mention potentially giving it back to a high powered office.
Oh no... you cannot go there. This entire website has been all over judge for not having the balls to go for it on 4th down. If anything, they SHOULD go for it more often considering the offense they are playing against.
almost.
If only the coach had a way to stop they play.
Lucky he got the bailout flag.
We should sign players who are not deaf and dumb.
yeah... he could see the gunner on the other side of the field completely uncovered.
Lucky he got the bailout flag.
Judge was screaming watch fake...he cant play for them...he can only coach. sorry but youre wrong, judge was on it on this one
Say it ain’t so!
Your special teams suck.
And they are stupid.
LFG Big Blue!

This team continues to think they have a power O type of line smh
Hog mollies indeed.
Always the same play, up the middle.
Agreed. Nobody from the Edge is getting even close.
You see the guy claiming those are both coverage sacks? Clueless fans.
Quote:
but those were both coverage sacks on 3rd and long. Stafford stood in the pocket for a pretty lengthy period of time before going down. This 4-man pass rush has not been good at all today.
Agreed. Nobody from the Edge is getting even close.
+2. Scheming to stop Williams and Lawrence shouldn't be that hard. Seems like an easy halftime adjustment. Also agree that Stafford held the ball a long time on both sacks. Good coverage, but we need edge pressure, and we're not getting any.
You want to talk about where this was the last 5 games?
absolutely stinks. clear path at the ball runner..dives late at his ankles..
Are we trying to lose?
Yuck
NFL new number policy sucks.

I heard "holding on the defense. #5"
Sounded so fucking weird.
it was a 4th down fake that was called back
once again... you do not have a safety covering their best route runner. This is a scheme problem.
A very extreme analogy is asking your punter to play WR and then bitch when he drops the ball.
Where is the Love?
Their favorite defense this season. Works well with zero pass rush.
Quote:
They were showing Judge after the play was already over. Guy was unprepared and was lucky on the offsetting penalties
Bullshit. I saw him clear as fucking day say watch for the fake. Watch a replay of the game, genius
I stand corrected. Regardless, he should have called timeout when he saw how open the gunner was. Whatever doesn't matter anymore
Ahhhhh…. No

Well… you only have to kick me in the nuts 15 times before I give up.
Seems like everyone else gave up on the season already and is just waiting it out trying not to get hurt.
There is always miscommunication with Engram and Jones it's not a coincidence anymore
OMFG! We can’t catch a damn break for once. This is getting reminiscent of the year Jesse Palmer ended up finishing the season as the starting QB. IIRC a high percentage of the team was injured that year.
Seems like everyone else gave up on the season already and is just waiting it out trying not to get hurt.

According to the announcer Engram is a great player.
this is exactly what's happening and its putting alot of pressure on the rest of the group. McKinney might need to sit.

“Feel the rush”? Are you kidding me? Floyd had a free run completely unobstructed! He cant be prepared for having 1 second to throw.
From your keyboard to god's ears.
No doubt! However, I doubt we even have the WRs to pull that off today.
Agreed. Peart just got flat out speed rushed and abused there. Jones literally had two seconds from snap to strip.

Hang down your head, Tom Dooley. Hang down your head and cry. Hang down your head, Tom Dooley. Poor boy you're bound to die.

What? Teams do it in February every year.

Same deal a few years back when OBJ and the rest of the WRs went down.
that is why schlereth is calling the game

They're 1-4. The injuries happened last week. They weren't good enough 4 weeks before the wave or injuries.
So far he hasn’t gotten hurt. Which sets him above half the team
Yep.. 100% on Jones
Jones is not difficult to evaluate. If things go off schedule he comes apart.

This season was lost when they went 0-3 and lost the entire offense to injury. If they were 2-2.... maybe.

But I bet he's been told not to do that because they don't want him hurt
so yea lets fire everyone and let the players run the assulym and no coach or GM will want to come here in 2022.

You only keep a coach around if you still think they are “the guy”. Otherwise you try and find the next head coach.
There are only 32 jobs in this league, not many people will pass up a head coaching job that’s just silly

then what?
Most of you are just not that bright are ya
Maybe fire yourself from watching Giants games.
It’s not like they were good and suddenly sucked when injuries occurred.
what? that has nothing to do with what I said.
It seems to me you are saying we suck because the leaders are all gone suddenly (injuries). We sucked even with the leaders playing is my point. You dont want to fire everyone because building takes time. This is year 4 of DG. One could argue he got this year when he shouldn’t have. You dont get time in the NFL. None of the Giants staff has proven deserving of patience.
correction - 1:41 onslaught
I like it! Say it with Dave Gettleman’s B’ahstan accent!

Should the Giants have retained Shurmur?
The offense was not too bad then, but he was a terrible HC, so no.
So Shurmur should get fired after two years, Mcadoo should be fired after two years.
But if Gettleman gets fired after four, the Giants are going to ruin their chances.
Lol. OK.
This team needs a full clean house from top to bottom and if MAra doesn't want to do it then he needs to sell the team
For other teams, it’s the Victory formation. For the Giants, it’s the Victim formation.
[/quote]
its an analogy,
and its part of player development for guys who are on rookie deals.

Buyers at the trade deadline!
take the key card away from DG...don't let him do more damage...we thought Reese destroyed this franchise but DG just is throwing dirt on it.
Jones seems to be in a concussion fog, and nothing less than horrible is going to happen in the second half.

it makes no sense.
Strikes again. CJ Board thinking he has to hit the home run ball every time he fields the kick off. Now his season is done.
If Thomas and toney are playing then I expected a game. But it’s all over now.
Best pass protection in a game in Daniel Jones career, plus game breaking plays from Toney, Ross, & Golladay.
The team could probably piece together something offensively, but none of that includes thing Daniel Jones is good at.
Quote:
It is insulting to this loyal fanbase.
Coordinators have not helped this team IMO, but players are also not executing. Also they are very undisciplined, Redzone coring worst in league, injuries to 9 starters! This is very very very ugly!
It really is.

The never-ending Project Rebuild?
By horror show I mean 2 interceptions. Lots of yards but he keeps throwing picks deep in Wash territory
It’s also really boring. Calling this “entertainment” is a stretch.
There is a very small nucleus of players that you start the rebuild around. Some promising and some contractually obligated.
Andrew Thomas
Kadarius Toney
Kenny Golladay (unless you can trade him)
Leonard Williams
Everyone else is fungible.
Blake Martinez

He basically had 2 seconds, couldn't even get to his 1st read. QB's never see this coming because its on the blind side, hence why LT's get paid big bucks. The only way a QB sees this is if he is watching the DL and not the WR's, which obviously he can't do. You see this hit happen a lot and its always a 50/50 fumble thing. IMO this is completely on the LT. If a QB sees this coming he would be benched for not looking downfield
He’s still partially at fault for it. He’s never felt the rush his entire career.

LOL! So now the expectation is that every time Jones fumbles --someone on the Giants is supposed to recover it? And the fact is they have been recovering them all year but, still you are not going to recover ALL of them.

It was under 2 second or right at. Replace Jones with any other name and I think most would think, "QB would be fortunate to not fumble"
Blame him for the INT to Engram but the fumble is just not being objective at all
The injuries no way excuse how bad the Giants are and have been for years.
Blame him for the INT to Engram but the fumble is just not being objective at all
QBs release the ball all the time in the NFL.
Giants have an organization failure and are deficient in football philosophy top to bottom.

True..Jones is the first QB to lose a fumble this year. I just read that on PFF.
You guys are incredible I’ll say that. Jones could have sex with your wife and youd blame your wife.
First of all STFU about anyone's family. Second, the only thing ridiculous is you acting like our stance is unreasonable.
Get your panties out of a bunch. It’s a metaphor. [/quote
Fuck off
not a good look for JJ who prides on his team competing
they aren't competing
not a good look for JJ who prides on his team competing
they aren't competing
This is what they do all year...get dink and dunked on...get run on...give up the big play...not sure what they are capable of doing well
The first person Mara needs to fire is himself.
sure.. knee jerk decisions. Exactly what we need right now.
Hopeless.

OF course but realistically that will never happen so next best thing is for him to start holding people accountable including his Family or should i say Especially his family
And who knew Jerrel Jernigan could play?
Doesn't sports betting work by having either a win or a loss result in the house making money?

I want to see what the front office and coaching are doing behind the scenes and see how much of a shitshow it is 1st hand . Expose it to the world
So you think we will be exposed when our offense goes up against our defense in practice?
When you see how they coach , how they make decisions in the front office , how the scouts do their jobs . There is something extremely rotten in this organization and it's not just Judge and Gettleman
you are not going to see anything on hard knocks... it is a reality show
Me too lmao. Thats all you can do. I’m numb to it. We’ve been bad for so long that last season’s 6-10 record really gave us hope LMAO

Please tell me this is a joke. Please
This team is getting it's shit beaten out of them today on their way to 1-5 and another lost season , and 19-51 in the last 5 years for the worst record int he league and firing someone is knee jerk ?
The Rams are just running down our throats. They aren't doing anything fancy. Just trying to shorten the game so they can go home. They have a long flight.
All they would do is set the line to some outrageous number
Need to get rid of everyone named Mara, all the scouts, and anyone else involved in the decision making . Completely start over like an Expansion team in the Front office
You're blaming ernie for this? Really? Best executive they ever had. What's he supposed to say "don't hire that loser ."
wide open WRs....1 cut rb's gashing the middle of the Dline...
On another note, how does Mara sell the fans on another year of this? I don’t think he can?!
The silver lining...
What difference does it make. Even with two first round picks Chris Mara and our crack scouting team with screw it up.
McVay still pissed off that they didn’t score a TD! He clearly wants to rub it in
The Lions will have the first pick. They might go 0-16. Their best hopes for wins are at Pittsburgh, at home on Thanksgiving against the Bears (maybe the Thanksgiving mojo will help), and Dec. 26 at Atlanta. They are getting shut out by the Bengals at home today. Say goodbye to Thibodeaux.

ah, gotcha
DANNY DIMES!
Jones is ass…
Jones is ass…
He's been great all year...a coincidence that 7 days after he was stumbling all over the field not knowing where he is he has his worst game of the year?
Fuck JJ for putting him in that spot.
Injured
He reinjured his ankle
3rd round pick wasted!
He needs to play and learn from this. Eli also threw 4 INTs in a game before. Jones has 3 and a fumble today! Jones problem is that he’s staring down the receiver and getting it out too slowly. Easy pick for the CB
he got injured on the first series and out for the game
Oh so that is the bbi neurology dept. making the diagnosis. I would think he passed the protocol he is clearr to play
not sure why this isn't talked about more...this is gross negligence from JJ and the entire coaching staff.
I hope this is a joke. Toney is out for the game.
Are you this pathetic? Do you even watch the game?
Toney had 3 catches and went out injured. Go back to the Jets board
Nope. He cleared the protocol so it isn’t that.
That didn’t have shit to do with staring down the receiver. That was a bigger problem that I don’t know what to call. The defender was there the ENTIRE time. How did he not see him?????
Doubt it. Doesn’t take much with him. Even if you like him, you have to ask yourself, is he a super bowl qb? Is he exceptional? Unless we are good for mediocre.
Agreed.
He was cleared to play but if you saw how bad that looked last week, I'm shocked that he fully recovered
That was one of the worst interceptions I’ve ever seen thrown on any level of football. He had a clear view of the defender and receiver and threw it anyway. Concussion after effects sounds like as good an explanation as any for that.
And I guess now we have a concussion that the experts think is cleared that really isn’t.
Maybe he's seeing double? :D
Actually, that would be all the more reason...never mind
Lol
While your joking...you act like our WRs ever get open. They don't.
yeah... that will change things.. lol
Quote:
This site is incredible lol. He can’t count defenders because of the concussion?

Stop this bullshit. It’s embarrassing. He’s been bad. If he was foggy enough he couldn’t see colors or count he wouldn’t have cleared protocol.
I don’t think he’s ever thrown one like that before. There’s no explanation for it.
Oh stop it. Good QBs don’t make that terrible decision and throw.
This team is brutal.
Who is waiting around for this? The same folks that are waiting around fro a bad play by Engram?
We are fans that are frustrated watching our team being held back by poor play.
And I guess now we have a concussion that the experts think is cleared that really isn’t.
Idiotic!
He was cleared to play by an independent neurologist.

I don't trust the NFL on anything when it comes to concussions. Have you seen their history with the subject?

Jones is really good, and no data or information will ever change that deeply held belief. There are only two data points they see - good plays by Jones and bad plays by everyone else.

No I can’t. There are no good plays being made by anyone today. Leonard Williams maybe.
This team has very little talent. The line sucks and everyone sees that. The defense sucks and everyone sees that. The QB sucks but some on here seem to think he is playing a good game today.
Jones just isn't right today. Having BBIers speculate it may have something to do with getting knocked out a week ago isn't outrageous.
But they don't have issues of talent the Giants have right now.
No one even remotely tried at the end of that play.
People wanted McAdoo run out of town after a similar performance. What’s the answer now??
People that think just because you are cleared to play after a hit like that really must have never played football...he is probably still a bit concerned about getting hit again (that is being human). So maybe he is trying to get the ball out even quicker.
I don't know, to me he looks pretty similar to how he's looked in the majority of his career starts.
Jones just isn't right today. Having BBIers speculate it may have something to do with getting knocked out a week ago isn't outrageous.

Yup. Put a 50 spot on there.

That was a bad one too last week. I think the Giants were wrong to play him. That type of concussion knocked out QBs in the old days for weeks when they didn't have much of a protocol
Agree, please score over 50 and make it crystal clear how bad we are

Oh snap!
based on the rest of this season, I sincerely doubt he's recovered from the concussion last week.
He had one INT going into today, and it was a hail mary.
He's not right, and I can't believe they are sending him out there in this situation.
Fucking Garrett again. Why did he call for the short spikes? Terrible play design!
This is like leaving in a pitcher to get his brains beat in. Not sure what message Judge is trying to send by putting a guy in who is struggling this badly.

Agreed. This isn't just pointless. It's madness.
Their lucky that last Aaron Donald sack wasn't worse .. or a fumble..
But they don't have issues of talent the Giants have right now.
Lamar Jackson is - maybe quietly - having an MVP caliber season over there carrying that offense.
Giants do not have NFL quality depth. It’s shocking and angering.
Inexplicable.

It is an inexact science. The line between hard hits and concussions is a little arbitrary. The Dx can be subjective. Concussions are something the NFL can point to so that they can say they are doing something. There is a ton of damage from regular hits.

+2. But it's difficult to believe that staring down receivers is because of a concussion. I simply don't think he should have played. His concussion last week was too severe.
He has stared down receivers all day.

Right, this seems much worse than the usual Daniel Jones staring down receivers. He is throwing the ball to defenders not even jumping his throws. They are right underneath the receiver.
