I've heard that on BBI the last 4 years. We should feel very privileged that Dave Gettelman is our GM. The heroism to be condescending to reporters who ask about analytics knows no bounds. We are so lucky.

Were also talking about a fan being pumped up when the giants beat Seattle in Seattle last season. They were showing signs of life. Wtf is a fan supposed to do at this point in time?

Not overstating anything. The defense of DG has been one of the more ridiculous stretches I have seen in NY Giant history.
When he was put in place things started poorly, it was a general defense of NY Giant nation.
Then when the first year results were bad, it became a conspiracy theory on how Eli was forced on him to "win now".
Then when the losses piled up in Year 2, it was the coaches stink so give him more time under a new coaching staff and his own guys.
Then when Judge came into the picture with some positive results, it was they are a "good collaborative team" so let's keep going.

lots of terrible decisions were made that brought the team to this point. The defenders lauded many of those decisions (trades, signings, etc.) - while other first guessed them as questionable.
Who regaled us with fulsome praise of Gettleman's brilliant master plan, and how this year it was all going to come together. That was earlier this year, too, not at the beginning of Gettleman's reign of error.
There were also quite a few apologists who have blamed all of Gettleman's failures on Jerry Reese. Fortunately, now that it's year four, those have dried up.
