Organization has no credibility

Essex : 10/17/2021 4:28 pm
1. Hired a fossil for a GM who has no idea what he is doing
2. Hired a ST coach for HC after two HC failures of two years each
3. Saddled aforementioned HC with oft criticized but familiar Jason Garrett
4. Has family members inside the football operations and not only Chris Mara but the nephew who is supposedly the next great Mara (whatever that means). They own the team they could do whatever they want, but we are fans and we can criticize when they put family members who seem to be unqualified.

Just very demoralizing. Being bad in the league is cyclical, this cycle has lasted way, way too long. Everyone needs to go (I realize the owners aren’t going anywhere so everyone else needs to go)
Agree.

All of these are familiar guys, Gettleman, Garrett, his family members inside the FO—even Judge was on the BB recommendation. The rot in this organization stinks so much

Seriously. BB was a successful coordinator when he got the Browns job. He made the playoffs with the Browns and wasn’t a terrible coach. Joe Judge is 7-15

Are the same as Jessica Beil knocking on my door tonight. BB is the GOAT. JJ might be successful elsewhere. He might not be. He hasn't exactly had a great season either.

And keep Ernie Accorsi as far away from advising on replacements as possible.

Well then I definitely hope for your sake that JJ is the next BB.

Well, except for the fact that Belichick schemed a brilliant Super Bowl victory against one of the best offenses of all time before he became a head coach.

But that’s just a small resume point after all.
Eh, disagree on Judge..
Sean : 10/17/2021 4:48 pm : link
They took a chance on him. Be careful stating things like that because that’s the shit that will get us Mike Zimmer or Doug Pederson in January.

This is the stupidest comment I have seen today.
Belichick was
6-10
7-9
7-9
11-5
5-11
And building
Why exactly is Doug Peterson that bad?
cosmicj : 10/17/2021 4:49 pm : link
He’d be a massive step up in coaching from our current status.
And for all the Rhule love (myself included)
Sean : 10/17/2021 4:49 pm : link
He’s 8-14 as a head coach, only 1 game better than Judge.

I’d rather not go the retread route. I’d prefer a Joe Brady type hire.

Mike Zimmer is ten times the HC Judge is. I'd take Mike Zimmer in a heartbeat if you get the right QB for him

My fault I should have clarified.
I think Judge could be a successful head coach one day. I just don't think it will be for the giants

We’ve become one of “those” teams
Dave in PA : 10/17/2021 5:37 pm : link
The Browns, Bengals, Dolphins, Jaguars, Jets, Skins. Those futile inept franchises that you know before week 1 they aren’t going anywhere. Hell the Giants are probably the 3rd worst franchise in the league
Good luck hiring a qualified HC
GiantGrit : 10/17/2021 5:41 pm : link
After you most likely fire yet another HC after 2 years.

Mara's are incompetent and its not like the NFL didn't need to force George Young once upon a time. They have a history of incompetence.

If they want sustained success, they need to hire an outsider to run the football ops. The most successful business people & corporations not only hire the right people but also give them the freedom to flourish.

If picking the next QB needed to ok'd by John Mara, that tells you everything you need to know.

No one worthwhile will want to come here if they need John to sign off on roster moves. And i'm not saying that happens every time but i am saying it should never happen.

If they hire retread GM & HC i'll probably just check out on the team. The answer is in front of everyone's face.

IT's not working out
Matt M. : 10/17/2021 5:45 pm : link
But, I don't fault them for the Judge hire. We tried something a little unconventional for this organization. That is something many fans were hoping for. It didn't work out, but it was worth a shot.

That said, I don't see how they can move forward with him. The first order of business has to be fire Gettleman. I would do it now, just so everyone around the league is 100% aware we are in the market. I would NOT hire from within and I would NOT consult Accorsi. The new GM should have a few days to make a couple of key decisions. One is Judge and the other is Jones. The new GM should be the one to decide the direction of both, and to a lesser degree Barkley. Then, it's up to that person to either replace them or build a team with them. But, it is their team and their decision.
And after every year....
bw in dc : 10/17/2021 5:53 pm : link
we hear Mara say at the State of the Union that he thinks the team is close and begs for patience.

With Zimmer you are getting a defense oriented coach who is run first. he is a dinosaur. the game has past him by. Why would you want him? I have a buddy who is a big Vikings fan and he is praying they fire Zim.

repeated the same ridiculous mistake with McAdoo, with Judge.

Hire someone who has no fucking clue what they’re doing, because they’re cheap. I have zero doubt the Giants could’ve gotten some good coaches in here over the last 7 years. They never wanted to spend.

This is what you get. Look at yhis ridiculous college coaching staff Judge put together. Its like a bad joke. And they get bent over a barrel every week.

Going by winning percentage, we are literally the worst team since 3017. There are no counterfactuals.

I don’t think they hired Judge because he was cheap, I think they hired him because he blew them away in the interview. Same way he won us over with his presser. I was really rooting for the guy because I did, like many Giants fans, believe in him at first. I hope he finds a way to turn it around but it seems less likely each passing week.

Every single one of those teams at least has a direction and a plan. The Giants right now are down with the Texans.
