Daniel Jones Post Game Press - “wind knocked out”

fanoftheteam : 10/17/2021 6:07 pm
Suggested he wasnt concussed and just got the wind knocked out of him last week.

I was suggesting this in other threads as everyone was disappointed he was playing under the conditions. Its was more or less bad optics that led him to leaving the field and going through NFL protocol (unless he lied). Yet, Most likely explains why we saw designed sneaks as well today.

Id rather say this when its not an opportune time to say it - I love Daniel Jones. Hes a tough SOB and glad hes our QB. Hope we get healthy with him. He did not want to come out of the game today even considering the unfortunate circumstances. This guy has some balls/audacity.
It really really bothers me how unsuccessful he's been

because he's such a likable player. People liked Eli because was tough, but so is Jones. I just wish he was more successful.

toughness alone is meaningless. It's a league with magicians at the QB position. We can't bring the tough guy into a fight like that.
Balls yes.
SirLoinOfBeef : 10/17/2021 6:14 pm : link
Tough SOB. No question. And a very likable person from what I can see.

However, I'd take a really talented QB over him anyway. One that can throw on the run (off platform), scramble and then throw someone open instead of running and risking further injuries.

Tough is good. Talent is better in today's game.
He's a fiery competitor
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/17/2021 6:14 pm : link
But I question his decisions. I admire the passion, but just putting your head down and charging ahead isn't always the answer. Eli Manning never sacrificed his body that recklessly because he understood how important it was to be available for the team.
The last full game he played, he was great
BlackLight : 10/17/2021 6:14 pm : link
Today was a bad day. Nothing has changed. Apart from the injuries.

Not sure how it helps him to lead us on believing he begged out of the Dallas game because he got the wind knocked out of him, though.

85% of Giants fans wanted Eli gone at this point in his career. I was at the minnesota game in 07
I've Been a Big-time Jones Doubter for a While...
Jim in Tampa : 10/17/2021 6:18 pm : link
But I'm not ready to give up on him yet.

Get Toney, Barkley, Golladay and Thomas healthy and let's see what the offense can do.

When they were all on the field in NO the offense looked pretty good.
You really think that was just the “wind knocked out of him”
bhill410 : 10/17/2021 6:18 pm : link
Just like davante Adam’s had the wind knocked out of him the week before. These players lie all the time.

All of the players healthy at this point in the season may never happen. He needs to be evaluated based on what is happening in real time. Not what might have been.

Still bringing this up, huh?

I'll forget Jones a month after he's gone to another team - just like every other player on this pathetic roster.

And now Jones' trajectory is set? I suppose anything is possible maybe?...

Nah.

christian : 10/17/2021 6:24 pm : link
So he was perfectly healthy today and did that?

I get the comps, but DJ is his own player. We can't expect him to do what Eli did. He has to plot his own path. And while the history lesson of not giving up too early has some merit, but you can argue that today's NFL is vastly different from '07; especially when it comes to the progression of franchise QBs.
First play of the game
Tuckrule : 10/17/2021 6:55 pm : link
Solder whiffs and gets DJ killed. Playing behind this line missing everyone is an impossible situation to succeed. He had Shepard and that’s it. He had Peart and solder at the tackle position. First drive of the game looked a little different with Toney and Thomas in. And I say only a little. The amount of pressure this guy was under is just a disgrace to football. The 3rd down Throw to Toney for a first was a gorgeous throw where he got drilled. You guys are asking jones to be better than mahomes and josh Allen. To succeed with the unit we put on the field. Nobody not a single qb could have competed with this garbage we put out there and compound that with this poor coaching staff. It’s a lose lose for any quarterback

This will come off as a defend jones post and it truly isn’t it’s more damning on DG and Garret than anything. We lose Thomas and the offense totally collapses. The garbage that he puts out there on the field is pathetic. He should be let go tomorrow and a new GM should be in place. How the staff continually plays Rudolph over smith is another insane move that is unconscionable.
That can’t be the case.
Mike from Ohio : 10/17/2021 7:10 pm : link
I read on here all day that he must have been concussed because he was staring down receivers and not reading the defense correctly. Those are things we have never seen him do before in his career.

<<end sarcasm>>

You’re kidding me right? Did you see that team out there today? His best wr was Evan engram. He took chances and got his ass kicked.

I can’t take this place anymore with the stupid fucking agendas and how some of you just need to be right all the time.

He threw the ball directly to the defender he was looking at TWICE.
Did not look like it

was "just the wind knocked out"
He didn't say he had the wind knocked out of him
Matt M. : 10/17/2021 7:28 pm : link
He said he remembers everything about play and it initially felt like he just had the wind knocked out of him.

He was examined, per protocol, on the sideline and removed from the game. You don't get removed and then placed in concussion protocol for the wind being knocked out of you.

Thank you. You don’t get placed in the protocol bc you had the wind knocked out of you. What a ridiculous suggestion.

In the midst of your turbulent mood disorder you must have me confounded with some other guy. I like Daniel Jones.

I don’t think he just had his wind knocked out. That guy looked off today.
Ironically,

Giants fans have had the wind knocked out of them (and worse) over these past several years.

Yah - listen to the full answer ….he said he was not concussed in a way that doesn’t jeopardize himself or the league policy.

Love Eli Manning, but lol, sometimes he went down almost as comically as his brother.......but hey, there's a reason he was never hurt.
