Burn the tickets buy nothing Giants branded. Nothing. Spend time with your family. Wellington said that the 1978 protests shook him up. Time to do it again. Stop funding these incompetents
P S L. Do whatever you want they’ll just laugh and send you an invoice. As I’ve said here many times. The Giants split all of the NFL merchandise money evenly with the other 31 teams. The make as much money as the Bucs every time someone buys a Brady jersey.
I do agree though that not showing up hurts the legendary Mara pride and image and that matters to them
But there are plenty of signs the Mara’s are defensive and embarrassed by the team. Sean is correct. Feeling bad about something is not enough; they don’t know how to fix it.
It's not a matter of getting their attention. It's a matter of them being capable of making the right decisions when they make changes. There have been a lot of decisions made by ownership in the past 5+ years, and few, if any, of them have been good ones. Empty seats and slow merch sales aren't going to make them better at hiring football personnel.
Mara hasn’t sat idly by white this team loses every year. He’s fired people left and right. People demanded coughlin be fired too because he was too old. It’s been a shit show ever since. Yep I know I know he “just had to go” sure he did. Best coach we ever had since the tuna. Now we have clowns.
It’s like that already. It was at least 35% Rams fans today. The only good thing was having actual winners on the field at halftime.
yeah, I sold my tickets for the game. Next week's game sold already too. I just cannot see spending $400 for two tickets plus parking AND waste an entire Sunday watching the worst team in the league
Fans need to sell their tickets to opposing fans and let November and December be a stadium filled with opposing fans. Make Mara sit and watch cheers poor down on the opposing team as they filet the Giants in the generic, nothing stadium he built.
Mara needs some kind of wake up call to realize the problems with this team run much deeper than Gettleman and Judge.
Scam of all time. Can’t believe people paid that shit. Not only has the team been an abomination, the stadium is ranked 27th out of 30th in the damn league.

It was a shit show at the end of the Coughlin era. What are you talking about?

team was sorely lacking in talent by the end of the TC era. REESE AND ROSS had blown multiple drafts by them started in 2012 with david wilson instead of OL Reese and ross should have been fired before TC
I just feel awful for Strahan. There's decent chance when his jersey gets retired in 5 or 6 weeks from now, that there's just as many Eagles fans in the building as there are Giants fans, which sucks.
That's what this franchise gets for waiting 13 YEARS to retire a jersey of one of the best players in franchise history and a HOF'er.
John is as frustrated as his fans are. The problem is very simple. He can’t see that HE and his family, and their method of doing business, is the crux of the problem. If he (and his other family members ( would step away from daily operations, and get some real football people in here), then things would improve fairly quickly. He’s a pig headed, stubborn mule, so that’s not happening.
of what would be accomplished if Gettleman was fired now instead of at season's end.
Judge will very likely be back next season, regardless.
"When to replace the GM?" is an interesting question and probably deserves its own thread, but here's my 2 cents' worth.
Remember that a few years ago the Bills fired their GM immediately after the draft? A lot of people thought they were nuts. If you know you're going to fire the GM, why let him draft? But here's the thing: It's this GM's scouts, his team graded the players and put together the board. Bringing in a new GM to work with the old guy's scouts and draft board is far from ideal.
So one school of thought says the ideal time to replace the GM is April or May, after the draft. That way he has time to put in his own scouts and staff and start scouting in the fall with his guys in place.
Obviously a lot of teams do it differently. They fire the GM at the end of the season. That may make it easier to hire new scouts. I expect it makes for a difficult few months leading up to the draft.
Fire the GM in mid-season? I guess if things are bad enough and there's someone better ready to step in, it can make sense. If the Giants want to promote Kevin Abrams, they could fire DG tonight. If they want to bring in someone from outside, who could they get? They won't be able to hire another team's GM until season's end. Can they a more junior exec from another team? Or would they have to get someone not currently employed by an NFL team? (George Young was in the league office, IIRC.)

It's hard to defend the Mara's feelings on the topic. Are they just that stupid?
I think the Mara’s care greatly. It’s an execution issue.

The Maras built this. This is their creation.
Much like how people say they’ve ignored the offensive line during this same time span, they haven’t.
Obviously there’s a problem but it’s not that they don’t see that. They just haven’t been able to figure out how to fix it.
Exactly. Why wait?
Just stop going and sell your tickets to the visiting team. Make it feel like a home game for the visitors...

I’d wait till the end of the season to fire both of them.
