Anyone on BBI from this high school or know anything about it?
They are a Section I AA team and they are just an absolute beast this season, currently 6-0 and having destroyed some of the best teams in the section:
Beat
Arlington 34-7
Spring Valley 49-0
New Rochelle 26-0
John Jay (Hopewell Junction) 40-7
Clarkstown South 38-7
Suffern 31-7
I follow New Rochelle High School football very closely and I haven't seen in over 20 years the team get pushed around like it did by Carmel a few weeks ago. Complete and total domination.
It's practically a foregone conclusion that Carmel with get out of the Sections and it would not surprise me in the least should the team go up the Dome and crush its way to a State Championship.
I went to Lakeland HS so we played them in a lot of sports, they usually had pretty good sports teams. I am still friends with a group of wrestlers from that area from my time in HS, and the wrestling coach from that time just passed away.

From 2004 to the Present, New Rochelle High School Football has a record of 165 Wins and 23 Losses. In that time, they have out-scored opponents by an average of 30 - 9. They have been to the States and the Dome numerous times, winning at least two State Championships. What I saw Carmel do to them this season was a total shock. Never seen it happen before, at least not in this century!
Lol this is simply untrue. Somers is a division down and way smaller than Carmel. Somers wouldn’t even play Carmel. Somers plays John Jay (the smaller one), Lourdes etc… Carmel plays a division higher. I went to high school at Kennedy which is in Somers and at the time we used to beat Somers often but would have gotten annihilated by Carmel. Kennedy is now totally different and in a private school league or something, I don’t know.
Also, Homes is in Dutchess County and not part of Carmels district, it would be Pawling.
I went to Carmel up until the end of middle school and at that time it was the biggest school in NY state. They are usually very good at football but not like a New Rochelle type team that always seems to be top tier. That being said, I don’t follow it at all really. I think I usually just read the OPs yearly New Rochelle posts and end up looking how other teams fared.

My town's team (Somers, two towns south of Carmel) has always taken Carmel to the woodshed regardless of the sport or year. That said, I didn't know Carmel was AA.

lol, are you telling me I don't know where my cousin lives or where he went to HS? Seriously?
What blew me away about Carmel is that they have an amazing offensive line that dictates the tempo of the game. They really mash.

We live in Clarkstown and my kids got to South. Yeah they're a powerhouse. I think South was the only team to have a lead on them. 7-0 and it didn't even make it to a play from scrimmage. They returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown lol.

Yeah both of their little lines were dominant. Skill player wise they're good but honestly I thought the Ketcham QB was better when we played them earlier in the season. He pretty much beat South by himself.

I think some parts of Holmes go to Carmel. Stormville is in Dutchess County and half the Stormville kids went to Carmel. I went to John Jay. I don't remember John Jay ever being good at football but I don't really follow it anymore.

My cousin lives in Holmes and went to Carmel HS, and he still goes and watches games. He has been telling they are a wrecking ball this season. He actually called me from the Carmel - Suffern game Saturday.

Not directly on topic, but how far back do you go with NRHS football? I went to Iona Prep and played in the '92 and '93 Turkey Bowls - a fantastic tradition which unfortunately ended when NY instituted the state playoffs. The last time I wore football equipment was the 1993 Turkey Bowl, where we were losing 15-0 in the 4th quarter, came back to score 2 TDs and 2 two-point conversion to take a 16-15 lead, only to lose on a last-minute TD that was made possible by a fake punt that everyone knew was going to be a fake but which NR converted anyway. Ripped my heart out and I'm still pissed off 28 years later!

Great story about the Turkey Bowl! I played football for New Rochelle in the early 1970s and I have a recollection of the 1972 Turkey Bowl in which both teams scored the same number of TDs but Iona made all their extra points and we did not. Like you, I was heart-broken!
A few tidbits about the Turkey Bowl. Our next door neighbor was Lev Pope who was the head of WPIX TV and also had sons who went to Iona Prep hence the televised games which began (I think) in the mid- to late 1950s.
I also have a fond memory of being taken to McKenna Field for an early 1960s Turkey Bowl which drew something like 5,000 fans! Iona was a serious underdog but fought heroically and almost pulled off an amazing upset! I can still see the cheer leaders from Iona! They borrowed them from Ursuline on North Avenue.
Btw… the only teacher that ever hit me was a Brother from Iona Prep on Wilmont Road. Long story short… a friend of mine took me over to Iona and being a public school kid with a fat mouth, I didn’t realize how far the Iona teachers could/would enforce their discipline. I found out the hard way.
