Only 192 days to the 2022 NFL Draft, and it can't come soon enough. The Giants have been hooked, fried and eaten, and the only thing left is for the scavengers to pick over the bones.
The good news -- this Mock Draft has the Giants selecting #5 (their own pick) and #10 (Chicago's). The latter seems just about right. But there's no way in hell the Giants are picking #5 (unless their strength of schedule works against them.) This team has the look of one that will have the #1 overall pick and no lower than 2.
At #5 the Giants take Derek Stingley Jr. (CB LSU). Given he underwent a foot "procedure" and has missed several games, he seems like a perfect fit for these injury-riddled Giants. As for the argument that the Giants have already devoted a ton of draft and free agent resources to their secondary... oh, well. Embrace the suck.
At #10 the Giants select Kenyon Green (OL Texas A& M). I like the player at a position of tremendous need. I just hope we get him into a locker room that's been swept clean of as many current players as possible.

And yet again we are already looking at the draft class for next year.

It's the only way I can make it through another season.
I've watched a lot of college football in the past 10 years :)

I hear ya! Saturday used to be just a prelude to NFL Sunday. Now Saturday is the only weekend day I look forward to football.
Edge/Rush and OL all day baby in Rd1 and 2.
In this scenario, Aidan was picked third by the Texans.
Very rarely are there a lot of commonalities.
Forcing a pick on QB is how we got Jones in the first place.
I like Corral, but he is undersized and there are holes in his game.
This particular mock has WFT picking him at #11. "Forcing the pick" makes it sound like picking him at #10 is absurd.
Jones was a forced pick because he wasn't a first round talent, but was picked at #6 anyway because the idiots in the front office thought he'd be Eli Manning. THAT is forcing a pick.
Corral is currently one of the best players in college football. No comparison to the Jones situation whatsoever.

I dont want to argue with you because like I said I do like the player, but by your standards.... Time Tebow should have been the number 1 pick since he was one of the best college players on and a heisman winner on the number 1 team in the nation.
I get the attraction, I do. And I am ready to move on from Jones as well. But Id like to see what he measures in at and his 40 time. We have to nail the next QB. If he measures at 6'0 and 190 and runs a 4.85 - that could be really problamtic. Plus he will be 23 in a few months - he should be dominating college football. He is old by their standards.
I dont want our next QB compared to Jones in any way. If we are going to take him in the top 10... lets compare him to guys like Allen, and Hebert. Those are the guys that our next QB needs to be as good as if we draft in the top 10.
Of course there's no getting away from Corral going to...
I don't care about his size.
I don't care about his size.
If all is said to be true, then I would be all for the pick.
Burrow wasn't as heralded. He exploded his last year in college. Murray was highly regarded, but was just behind Mayfield.
Dak Prescott is the same height. Corral can put some weight on.

Heights are some times exaggerated

Agree.
Jets trade their first to either Philly or WFT who then select the QB1 that our new GM Kevin Abrams had been telegraphing. KA is completely prepared though and instead drafts a young right wing prospect from Medicine Hat.
Heard a bit about Green; analysts say he's been playing out of position as a guard having to play tackle.
I've seen a bit more of Corral than Willis. At this point I'd say Corral but I definitely want to see more of both before definitively favoring one or the other.
At this point I just think it's important to abandon the thought that picking a quarterback is forcing the pick.

I don't remember Burrow or Murray as highly ranked QBs going into their draft years (maybe I'm wrong on this). It's too early to say it's a bad QB year.

Thanks.
Lions may be worst of all. 0-6, and probably won't win a game in that division. Dolphins and Texans are real bad as well. Really a 6 team race.
Lots of good OLs, LBs and a few good QBs to consider this year...
OL and pass rush the way I'd go. Two h use massive problems in this current situation.
They should be able to get a top OL prospect.
I know Terps love Corral, but I'm not seeing it with him yet.

I find it hard to take a mock seriously that has no QB taken until 11. Chances are if the Lions/Texans are picking in the top 3, there will be at least 1 QB taken.

Picking Corral isn't forcing a pick. People keep saying that. He's a top Heisman candidate on the #12 team in the country in the SEC.

Not just Tebow. Danny Wuerffel was a Heisman winner on an SEC team that won the National Championship in 1996. Gino Torretta won the Heisman while playing QB for the Hurricanes National Championship team. All fantastic NFL QBs. Mariota won the Heisman, Manziel won the Heisman. Winston won the Heisman. Bradford won the Heisman. Smith, Leinart, White, Weinke. Ward, Detmer, Ware. Being a Heisman winner, much less top candidate, is hardly indicative of being a standout pro QB.
They should be able to get a top OL prospect.

You're buying the Hutchinson hype?
The most underrated pass rusher in this draft is Nick Bonnitto of Oklahoma. He's going to be terrific and I suspect he'll start to quietly climb up draft boards...

You apparently haven't been paying attention to the Lions. They easily could go 0-17. Look at their schedule. Atlanta, on the road no less, on Dec. 26 is their only real hope, unless Thanksgiving magic happens against the Bears. Lucky for the Giants, some of the teams with 1 win play each other.

There is legit concern about Corral's body type. He's just not that big of a guy. But he has a plus arm, can make throws on the run and he's a tough, tough runner.
There will be some flags on his background check with some high school issues that may turn teams off. From all I have heard and read, he's matured since then and made the right move getting out of USC commitment (California kid) and going to Ole Miss.
C'mon man! Did you see Corral against Bama (and this isn't even an elite Bama D)? He looked like a HS QB. There isn't a QB in this draft worth a top 20 pick. This team is going nowhere for 2-3 years...let DJ play us into another top 5-10 pick next year, then take a QB (if the 2023 draft has any?)
