Only 192 days to the 2022 NFL Draft, and it can't come soon enough. The Giants have been hooked, fried and eaten, and the only thing left is for the scavengers to pick over the bones.
The good news -- this Mock Draft has the Giants selecting #5 (their own pick) and #10 (Chicago's). The latter seems just about right. But there's no way in hell the Giants are picking #5 (unless their strength of schedule works against them.) This team has the look of one that will have the #1 overall pick and no lower than 2.
At #5 the Giants take Derek Stingley Jr. (CB LSU). Given he underwent a foot "procedure" and has missed several games, he seems like a perfect fit for these injury-riddled Giants. As for the argument that the Giants have already devoted a ton of draft and free agent resources to their secondary... oh, well. Embrace the suck.
At #10 the Giants select Kenyon Green (OL Texas A& M). I like the player at a position of tremendous need. I just hope we get him into a locker room that's been swept clean of as many current players as possible.

C'mon man! Did you see Corral against Bama (and this isn't even an elite Bama D)? He looked like a HS QB. There isn't a QB in this draft worth a top 20 pick. This team is going nowhere for 2-3 years...let DJ play us into another top 5-10 pick next year, then take a QB (if the 2023 draft has any?)
Losing Mingo before the game didn't help Corral. Mingo is a very good WR.
Regardless, Corral didn't play great - true. But he didn't play badly either. Ole Miss struggled with those early 4th down misses and couldn't get anything going.
Sometimes you just don't play well.
No thanks to the QB. This team sucks too much to waste on a QB this early.
I'd draft Corral because I like the player. It sounds to me like you want to draft positions.
And THAT is how we ended up overdrafting Jones.
I can buy Anderson. That front seven for Georgia is lethal. That DL with Wyatt/Davis/Walker open up a lot of opportunities for the LBs to create pressure.
Bonitto can really run and can turn the corner. Has something like 17 sacks so far through two full seasons, and this season.
As for some of the scouting knocks (I am not a scout), they size decision making, staring down receivers, prone to turnovers, and inability to move through progressions. Who does that sound like?
I know Willis and Corral are the flavors of the week. Simply because they're empty pallates. We have no idea that they're better now or will be better than what we have now. No given.
I would rather hold on to Jones for another cost controlled season, continue to add pieces around him and see where we stand next season. This isn't 2000. QB busts on their first contract aren't breaking your cap. I see no reason to jettison Jones just to take another stab in the draft at another QB prospect. If there were a sure-fire lock, I might feel differently.

how much faith do you have in Carter, Ximines, and Ojulari to make things happen on defense and get Corral the ball?

He'd be wasted behind our offensive line. And our edges aren't getting any better.
Plus, you wanted to be rid of Jones back last draft and now I'm overdrafting?
Pot. Kettle. Black.

This is not a conversation if Jones was just a better player. And after two and a half years, he's just not reliable from game to game.
So to act like some high bar has to be met before we can move off Jones is pretty laughable.

What are you talking about?
I think Corral is one of the ten best players in the draft. Drafting him at 5 or 10 isn't overdrafting.
I'm not targeting him solely because he's a quarterback and we need a quarterback. It's just fortunate it lines up.
But it lined up for us in 2018 and 2020 too when we need a quarterback and we were too stupid to pull the trigger.
My expectation is we stick with Jones.

I'd say the same for the edge rushers. It's a need and it lines up.

Don't care who is back there, we have to have pressure coming off the edge. Is it to high for Aiden?
In this scenario, Aidan was picked third by the Texans.
We can replace the Texans, and could be in the fight for Thibodeaux or Neal.

I haven't seen enough of Corral to form an opinion on him. I'm not opposed to drafting a QB because I don't think Jones is the long term answer.
Going into, no, but halfway thru the season, yes.

Nice looking throwing motion, good zip, good movement, gritty.

Funnily enough, I have considered him for a pick in the third or fourth round.
He’s from Monmouth County. Wonder if he grew up a Giants fan.

Oh, no. I'm out then... ;)
Seriously, I like a lot here. Pickett looks like a football player who plays QB. Good thing is Pitt has a nice remaining schedule - Clemson, UVA, UNC, Cuse. So he'll get some more TV time to showcase against quality ACC schools.
I would select as follows:
1. Offensive Line
2. Defensive Line
3. Offensive Line
4. Defensive Line
5. Offensive Line
6. Defensive Line
7. Offensive Line
8. Defensive Line
9. Offensive Line
See any pattern here?
He has had a history of fumbles in the past but seems to have cleaned that up this year.
He could end up a top 100 prospect in this coming draft.
