Evan Engram

NJLCO : 10/18/2021 3:23 pm
Can someone please do a review of his play from yesterday’s game. I tried watching him as much as I could and based on what I saw he was once again awful. His route running looked terrible. Zero separation and he looked slow. Was he one of the ones JJ called out at halftime?
I think I mentioned it on the game thread

but Engram and Shepard are supposedly good players and veterans at this point - can they step up and make a few plays with Golladay, Toney and Saquon out of the lineup? Is that asking too much? I feel like Toney's already made more big plays than Engram has in his entire career.

Really crazy is even with the depleted wide receiving corps he still can’t get targets and catches, it’s amazing and you have to wonder why the staff wants him around if they’re not gonna even attempt to get him the ball
A review of Engram

its simple. He is not a good football player. Never has been, never will be. Very good athlete, very bad football player. he wont succeed in the NFL regardless of the team he is on
Your really calling out Shepard

Engram and Rudolph as our TEs. Either the GM scouting or the coaching really sucks. Maybe both.
The fucker can't even tell where the first down marker is
sb from NYT Forum : 10/18/2021 3:42 pm : link
...early when in the game when it was close, on a 2nd and 8 from the Giants own 10 yard line he runs a 6 yard stick and gets tackled a yard short of the 1st down.

It would have been a 1st down if the guy had any awareness or football intelligence. Instead 3rd and 1, and Booker runs up the gut for no gain (surprise surprise) and the Giants punt.

Rams score a TD on their next drive to take the lead, and the floodgates open from there.

I'm not saying it was a difference making play, just another dumb play from a shitty player.

I still can't believe that Gettleman gave Rudolph the exact same deal after he found out Rudolph needed foot surgery. Insanity.
Evan Engram is obviously a great practice player

He's now fooled 3 coaching staffs.

Shep was literally the only guy who showed up to play yesterday, but ok.

Shep was the only one doing anything, sad because this could have been his breakout year. Engram sticks around because everyone else gets injured and the staff goes 'he's the only one left that is a threat.' He is literally a coach killer at this point and is obviously out of sync with his QB.

not a single team is afraid of Engram or regard him as a threat. They see the Giants on the schedule and mail in a easy week and still win by double digits. Just get this shitter off the team.
2xE

2xE had what looked to me like a pretty good game against either the St.'s or Boys, don't remember which. So he's filled his quota for the year.

guys, the OL is literally in shambles. I don't care if a 24 year old Travis Kelse walks through that door, he isn't dominating the stat pages for this team.

No one can block. No one can run. No one at WR. Take a wild guess what the TEs are free to do in that kind of offense? Hint, it isn't running long pass patterns that are predicated on OL protection.
For the second consecutive week, Engram's production
truebluelarry : 10/18/2021 5:10 pm : link
with regards to the stat sheet came in garbage time long after the outcome had been decided. His invisibility in the first half of games may be either his inability to get open (already suggested above) or Jones' lack of trust in Engram and not looking his way.
Regardless, Engram is a waste of a uniform on gameday.
I keyed in Engram for like a series or two.
Gmen703 : 10/18/2021 5:16 pm : link
Seems like he's only running curls to the sticks or underneath stuff.
Or blocking.

take what you can get for Engram

Just be "patient"... or thats what I keep hearing and reading. I'm sure by year 10 he'll make some contributions on the field.
