1. People buy the crap that weeks 1 through 3 are now considered the new preseason
2. We are an organization that is reluctant to fire people and reluctant to tear things down.
3. Mara is going to believe that that was the one game after the team had time to gel where we were somewhat healthy and the team came together and beat a good team on the road.
4. Our slew of recent first round draft picks all played well that day, and they desperately want to be right on those guys.
5. History says that we will win enough meaningful games late to ruin our draft pick.
And at the end of the season, Mara will give the same old speech that he's disappointed but he saw enough to keep things together
This is my fear....
If you re going to create a narrative let s not have revisionist history.
I m very confident if there is not significant improvement over the next 11 weeks, there will be another 1 or more people added to the above list, Mara has become more impatient over the years not less
Mara might be a football buffoon-I'd argue he is-but there's no chance he brings the entire gang back. Dude is obsessed with optics.
It's a big mess that won't be fixed by firing the coach and GM. Chris Mara has to be thrown out and the Giants must get a modern approach to evaluate players...
Nobody should overthink the importance of the comeback against the Saints....
