A bright spot -

I know, yeah but, and much of it true. It's time for tearing our clothes. Lots of problems and plenty of blame to go around. I doubt there's much hope for this season's record.

But even given all the problems I was surprised and delighted by the O's promise with the insertion of a few offensive weapons. And to beat the issue to the punch, they all need to get healthy, stay healthy and remain on the field.

In popular opinion Jones has Jones Sucks Days, and Jones Looks Good days, and I realize any comment other than Jones sucks is likely counter to prevailing opinion. But before we write this guy off completely, I know of some very decent QB's who were "streak" QB's, hot and cold, and others who were still sometimes problematic entering into their third season. Two of the later were Eli and Simms, who I watched almost every game of from the beginning of their careers until their end. And there were games during their long careers when each was decried as "not being able to hit the broad side of a barn."

Against the Saints, Jones looked sharp. But more importantly, the trio of Barkley out in space, the physical Golladay and the unreal YAC ability of Toney was a combination with the potential to scare the bejesus out of opponents!

The synergy of football is that you don't truly need an all-pro at every position, but rather the right combination of potent weapons can make the entire team better, even on both sides of the ball.

Now the question is, are the Giants sustaining an undue number of injuries, and if so why? And how do you get and keep these guys on the field?

So you're saying that we should bring back a QB

who needs everything around him to be good to be successful? That isn't a viable strategy in most cases. At some point in the playoffs, a QB is going to have to lift his team's level of play (ie - Eli in GB in 2008 and SF and 2012). Can Jones do that when things are breaking down around him? And do you want to pay him his next contract at around $30M per?

Those are the questions that need to be answered. It is hard to find a very good to great QB, but it is even harder to have a team with no holes. The Joe Falco's and Trent Dilfer's are the outliers, riding brilliant defenses to championships.
There are bright spots every year

The fact is, there are 53 guys on the roster. One or two bright spots doesn't make this a good team.

Eli lost Plax in '08 and what happened to arguably his best team ever? Who'd he lose in the 2007 and 2011 runs? There is merit to the OP. Toney looks unstoppable.

Both Eli and Simms had games, and plenty of them, were they lifted the play of their teams. (Sorta my point about synergy.) And games where they looked every bit as bad as Jones did last Sunday.

I'm not saying that Jones is Eli or Simms, but rather, at this point, I have no idea if he can be.

Give him what Dak has.

when he had all his weapons this year he was still only capable of looking at one of them...

He's not a pro quarterback.

will live on forever it seems.

Maybe even a ceremony in a 10 years commemorating it.
