Couldn’t agree more. Jordan’s been my favorite beat writer since Garafolo left, although Duggan is up there as well.

I wonder how he can talk about the team and players like that and still get cooperation from them to do his job

It took a minute but I’ve come to looking forward to Jordan’s podcast weekly and one thing is clear: if for professional reasons only, he wants the Giants to do well. He’s said several times what a drag it is to cover a losing team year after year and as a journalist myself, I totally get it. You think your bored and frustrated? His beat sucks and whatever he’s getting paid, it ain’t enough. Jordan also said more than once he was bullish on DJ. He’s not looking for reasons to be “negative.”
I think he understands the NFL as well as anyone in the media, seems to have a few good sources, and just plain calls it like he sees it. A much better writer than a broadcaster (which I imagine he didn’t aspire to when he was coming up) but I also find his lack of verbal polish kind of endearing.
It’s pretty much the only Giants podcast I listen to regularly.

I meant that I imagine Jordan was thinking about having to podcast or do much other broadcast work when he was coming up as a sportswriter. Also, yeah, saw my your rather than you’re typo. There’s probably others. Worked late and a little knackered now. When will the Forum start allowing corrections on posts lol?

Never understood the JR hate. Like him a lot and breaking big blue is very good IMO

Good podcast, very good production and professional reporting. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t listen to this pod.

This week he’s still pretty optimistic about Judge. Says Judge is really smart. I guess but I just don’t see anything that Judge has done on game day to impress. And he certainly isn’t winning.

My favorite podcasts

He summarized everything wrong with the DG tenure:

-- The offensive line has not been fixed and has 1 starter going forward in Thomas

-- Jones can be a good QB but not someone who can carry a team

-- The Defense stinks despite massive investment: there is zero pass rush and the secondary is a mess. Adoree Jackson doesn't want to tackle for 13 mil. No resources allocated to the puss rush.

-- He completely screwed up the Leonard Williams trade.

-- Should've traded Evan Engram and will now have to do it as lesser value.

I'll leave the Maras stuff out because that won't change. But Jordan nailed everything as to why Gettleman has failed.
