Browns already will be missing Chubb and Hunt at the RB spot and maybe missing OBJ and Jarvis Landry as well as a couple of OLinemen. Link - ( New Window )
The frustration stems from the fact the (ok - ok - IF) Browns are going to beat the Broncos w/ their JV squad and the NYG lost to them opening day with essentially all their horses.
It just shows the gap between the Giants roster and everybody else ...
Totally agree. I am not a believer in Mayfield at all. I think part of OBJ’s struggles, outside of injuries obviously, has do with the lack of connection with his QB.
I remember back in that draft process when a ton of the talking heads were saying the Browns would draft Josh Allen at #1. Then it started to shift about two weeks before the draft.
Bridgewater has looked like crap the last 3 games and now he's dinged up. They are probably thinking the browns defense and an adequate backup is still better than whomever trots out for the Broncos. As good as Chubb and Hunt are, I think their backups will be just fine behind that line

The Broncos were never good, the just played the Jets, Jags, and Giants to go 3-0. As soon as the started playing NFL teams, they're outclassed.
So it makes sense to sit him and not get him further exposed to a Denver defense that will be on the attack. Let the veteran Keenum manage the game.
I'm actually surprised Cleveland is favored, btw.
Beckham has yet to help, so he's no loss.
No one will make excuses ...

If they lose those will definitely be the excuses. I get your angle but it doesn’t really apply here.
The good thing is the injury is his left arm. But Mayfield is pretty fearless and gets hit a lot. So he struggles taking his foot of the gas pedal.
So he can play with it if he's wiser with his decisions.
