and his windup + weaker arm combo just makes everything he does seem super slow. He's also not really a good runner so there really isn't anything to account for with him.
I see some similarities with Jones, unfortunately, though I like Jones' skillset more.
but I don't think Tua looked that bad. And buyer beware, who knows what's going to come out of this Watson mess. I would imagine they'd include Tua in the trade, then what happens if Watson is suspended for a year or more?
Jones is an average to slightly above average QB at best… he is never going to be in the discussion as an elite QB. Watson is an elite QB. Watson, Golladay, Toney, Barkley and Engram would be downright filthy.

No that's not going to work because we *still have to evaluate Jones*. Until that's done we are robots not permitted to consider any alternatives.
actually they sound a lot like Giants fans on Jones. I've also never been that impressed with Tua, but granted I don't watch him much so I just go by what I hear from Dolphins fans. Seems like they think Tua is ok, but will never be more than an average QB and certainly not elite. Big mistake not taking Herbert.
you aren't tired of hearing your own voice yet are you?
same thing on every single thread, like clockwork.
Watson before the allegations was definitely worth it. Now? Who knows, too much risk sending that package of picks for him. I also don't care to root for the guy.

Agree! We don’t have the resources and would likely have to trade a couple of those players to get in the discussion. Keep Thomas and KT. Trade EE And anyone else you can to make it. The problem is when you lose like we do, very few players have much value. It’s a dream and not gonna happen. Fun to think about though
is not an NFL QB. He's not physically built to hold up, and his speed in running an offense doesn't fit given need to deploy a range of tight window throws and vertical passing game.
Jones may not be much more than average, but he's definitely suited to the NFL style of play based on his skills and arm strength.

I'd take a chance on Tua over Jones. But I agree he may not make it as a starter.
separate statements. Trading for Watson is a future move as I’m under the assumption he will still face some sort of suspension. So if that happens it makes sense to treat this year as a wash and let the regime move forward with the better QB.
Why let your GM and HC trade for Watson and then fire them? The flip side is, do nothing, see how the season plays out with their drafted guy in Tua and clean house if they stink.

I don't look at it as letting your GM and HC trade for Watson. I look at it as ownership wants him and if they don't feel Flores and his staff are the answer then they move on. I don't think ownership will be like, "Man, we fuckin suck but lets give this staff another year because we have Watson." Getting a new regime in here to start fresh with Watson is 100% an option to me as is Flores and his staff staying if they earn it. I don't think Watson factors in one way or another. In fact, if you move on there will be people that want to have a QB like Watson and no state income tax. It's an appealing job. But, as I said, I think both situations are legit possibilities.
Probably just taking advantage of the opportunity to get Watson at a little bit of a discount.
he is a bona fide franchise QB, and if you can get him at a discount, why wouldn't you try?
* assuming the legal issues are resolved/resolvable
This would be a longterm move. Unclear on whether he'd be suspended by the league or on the exempt list, so he may not impact 2021 much for them.
Tua reminds me of Matt Leinart. Scans the field but unwilling or unable to pull the trigger. Always happy with the checkdowns in the flats.
I see some similarities with Jones, unfortunately, though I like Jones' skillset more.
I would never make the deal without a lot of intel and guidance from the NFL FO. And, if possible, from Watson's lawyers.
How does trading for Watson save their season?
My subject line got screwed up becuase I used quotes.
It was supposed to read, Does Anyone Remember "Tank for Tua"?
Tua always felt like a bust waiting to happen, i'm just surprised it has more to do with his play than it does his health.

Does it? I don't think that has any effect.
Yes
They have the Niners first round pick from the Lance deal.
Tua has done better than Hurts.
Tua to Washington
Hou gets ?

A boatload of draft picks?
He showed uncanny accuracy in college. That's his big trait. Hard to get a read on him in the NFL with the injuries.

but getting him virtually guarantees the regime stays mostly in tact after this year.

If they finish 3-14 firing everyone isn't on the table?

I think Washington goes all in on Aaron Rodgers.

Where did you see that?

Huh? I'm so confused. You said getting Watson means no changes will be and then you respond by saying people should be fired.
Great. That will lower the overall QB play in the NFCE even more...

Of the deal. Don't know if it's real but it's out there. I got an alert about it and it's on Twitter for whatever that's worth.

I actually laughed out loud.
Watson has tremendous legal issues and the Dolphins have defensive problems as bad if not worse than the Giants and terrible line.
