I’m not sure that I have seen so many injuries 7 weeks into a season. And I’m talking league wide, not just the Giants.
It’s odd because I expected this more last year with the strange Covid offseason. I wonder why the soft tissue injuries are increasing so much? The turf in some of the stadiums? Is it players overtraining in the offseason and they are too tight now? Particularly the hamstring injuries?
Notable injured players, offense only (players that have missed or are about to miss at least 2 games):
McCaffrey, Barkley, Golladay, Andrew Thomas, Toney, Russell Wilson, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Cam Akers, Baker Mayfield, Edwards-Helaire, Dobbins, Antonio Gibson, Chark, Etienne, David Montgomery, George Kittle, Logan Thomas, Gronk, James White, Julio Jones, Jarvis Landry, OBJ, Chris Carson
There is nothing to watch or root for anymore. If they can't play Giants are not an NFL level team .
I remember feeling legit bad for Kerry Collins when he hurt his ankle (?) that year.
Today Joe Judge took it on himself, saying "A fish stinks from the head." He's right, and I respect him for taking that blame. But he's not the head that this fish stinks from. The stink comes from the head of the organization, the front office and the owner's box.
Maybe the injuries are a symptom of outdated training techniques and play designs. Or, to channel Michael Corleone, maybe these people are unlucky. We should do better.
2005 all the LB’s
Always seemed to be at position groups.
2008: Osi In preseason. Then Plax and Pierce amongst a couple others. All three critical to the teams success in different ways.
This year it’s the OL. Was really hoping it started to progress which was a strong possibility imo.

It’s not just the offensive line. Barkley, and almost the entire WR corps is hurt. It’s possible we are looking at Shepard and two practice squad players out there this weekend.

Yeah and I remember being pissed off at how Bruce Smith reverse suplexed Kerry well after he threw the ball on that play for his record sack and the refs looked the other way, no flags of course
That was that snowman fans game
I'm sure DG-in an attempt to save his job-will point to them as an excuse, but it's complete BS. Look @ the fucking Ravens. They've lost like 56874 RBs & are 4-1.
Crowder stinks and Ragland is run down ONLY.
Even something as common as creatine has the ability to dehydrate muscles and ligaments (hence why you drink so much water). This leaves those parts more vulnerable to pulls and strains.
I have no idea what anyone is taking but you can't rule it out.

This! The only injuries that have REALLY affected the Giants are Saquon (but expecting much from him before week 9 was dumb), Galloday, and Toney. We had backups (on good teams) get hurt on the OLine and Giants fans act like we're decimated. The OLine was never going to be good.
Bottom line...this was a 5 win team, if completely healthy. We were 1-3 when healthy and had one good half against the Saints.
Whether the strength training staff is too focused on strength over flexibility, or not stressing stretch and warmups enough, something has to change.

I went to that game. What a humid miserable time. A game the opponent had NO business winning but dumbass Giants coughed it up.
If memory serves me correctly, Big Mac didn't come out for OBJ when he was down and injured. Ass.
