Just finished watching this week’ episode of Nova on PBS. Anyone have any experience with insect dishes or recipes?

had grasshopper, crickets, some kind of beetle (I forget what kind), mealworm and scorpion. Black Ant in Manhattan has a few insect dishes.
The taco place at Grand Central Station had cricket tacos...

...a couple years ago for Halloween. I guess eating crickets is super common in Mexico.
Any, I said "fuck it" and got one. I didn't taste bad, but it's not something I would seek out, LOL.

They're pretty good dry roasted, like crispy sunflower seeds. You can get them flavored, too, e.g. barbecue, sour cream & onion, sea salt & vinegar, etc. Actually hit the spot quite nicely.
Next stop: NFL teams t be named after edible insects.

Only vultures and possums would consider politicians to be edible.
