Not to reinvent the wheel as there have been many TV recommendation threads, but as sports fans. Has anyone had trouble with image retention after watching a full day of football with the scrolling at the bottom?
In the market for an OLED VS LED TV and just wanted to check-in on this potential issue.
Anyone regret getting the OLED?
Thanks.
i adjusted a number of picture settings and took in avsforum recommendations and its much better but still not quite as smooth as I would like (and I hate the soap opera effect of the motion smoothing)
It's partially (mostly) the quality of the feed and my distance to the TV (10 feet), but it's not the experience I was hoping for with football.
Don't want to discourage you from getting the TV because for literally everything else (including other sports) it's incredible. With a good Atmos track and the TV in a dark room it's out of this world awesome for movies. Just a FYI.

Really? even with Tru Motion off? I saw that at first during baseball games when the pitchers leg would lift going home but once tru motion was off I havent had any problems. I do have a 65" so maybe that makes a difference?
You turned off all the AI stuff as well? Did you turn just scan on and change the picture to original?
There are things that are done like pixel refresh or image shifting to negate.
I guess if you left the same thing on for an absurd number of consecutive days, you might get it.

and you probably wouldn't get it in the first year or so if at all, but the one thing I was disappointed in on my 77" LG CX was football. It's a bit of a digital/blocky effect called judder that is distracting to me, especially noticeable at the LOS.

I started with TruMotion off, I don't like it, first setting I changed when I got the TV. I tried a bunch of things, don't remember them all. Adjusting contrast and sharpness down helped. Didn't adjust scan, believe it is on an auto setting.
i've had them for 3 years too and not one issue.
OLED's kick ass
Im biased but LG CX is the best tv I have had. I had a sony x900f and thought that was the best but the I went OLED and I'll never buy anything else
I almost splurged for a 2nd OLED this past month while Costco did a big sale on the AC80J, but I bailed thinking my wife would murder me. I have a 6 year old 65” LED in the basement that has ghosting going on. I want an OLED flanked by 2 40” TV’s. I’ll probably wait until next year for that project.
Will definitely get the LG OLED
