I will always root for my team. With that in mind:
Dante Pettis is one to watch today. I think Jones likes him and attention elsewhere will be on Slayton, EE if he plays and SS if he plays. I expect Pettis to be targeted at least 5 times today.
Kyle Rudolph needs to make some plays today with or without EE being available.
Giants to do at least 1 special teams trick play today.
I think Jones plays better this week, gets 50 yards rushing- many dedigned scrambles from passing formation and runs 1 in.
Giants go on 4th down 3 or more times and pass on FG attempts when inside 50 and FG 45 or more yards..
I say we get blown up at home by the coach that Mara didn't even get to interview because some outsider made him so great offer that he didn't even interview for his self proclaimed DREAM JOB
Carolina without McCaffery is not very good. Also Darnold has been poor without him too. 4 TDs, 6 ints, back to Darnold form I guess. For the record, McCaffery has now missed something like 15 of the last 20 games.

I don’t think we win but I think we compete. Giants and Panther offenses are cautionary tales on the lack of RB depth and putting eggs in building offense around a RB without having a strong power run game offense.

Do you just ignore their defense? We are starting solder and Peart and Carolina has a good defense. Not to mention Shepard might be out as well. starting WR Slayton, pettis, Ross, Johnson and likely sills gets some burn.

No I don't just ignore their defense. My opinion is the defense isn't that good. They have given up over 90 points in their past 3 games to the Cowboys, Eagles, and Vikings. Their D stats were over inflated early because they opened the season against the Jets, Texans, and the Winston led Saints. Now they they started playing decent teams (not even good ones) their D has slumped dramatically. I just don't see much difference here, even if the Panthers are 3-3.
Without weapons on offense and no LT, it's hard to see how the Giants
sustain drives or score many points. Without a pass rush, Darnold will not see any ghosts and will find open receivers more often than does Jones. The Giants will be defeated by a quarterback the Jets threw away. WFAN and ESPN-NY will hold a one day funeral service for the Giants before devoting time exclusively to local NBA and NHL teams because NY football is simply an embarrassment.
I don't, however, think the Giants will be bad for the next five to ten years like the team in the 70's which was a disaster. I'm hopeful that a new GM will revamp scouting and talent assessment and make far better selections than Gettleman who likes to think he's the smartest guy in the room when his track record clearly shows that he's not.
With TiVo I can blow through the ads and watch the game in two hours. But live I can listen to Papa and Banks and Howard Cross. Plus I get the game thread. Probably go with live.
I don’t know too much about the Black Cats this year. I know CMC is out and I know Darnold is the QB1. This will be first look at Ruhle and his staff.
What I would like to see from the Giants is some freaking pride on the defensive side of the ball. The defense has a lot of money and alleged talent. But they’re led by the Big Cat who’s been more of a Big Pussy lately. Leonard Williams has been more concerned with the fans booing than he has been concerned with his unit’s pathetic performance. Where the f’ing pride defense? Do the coaches even notice the lack of effort? Or are the coaches too worried about trying to find the answers to why their schemes are being picked apart every single week? Bunch of no shows on defense today and this team will need to be blown up. Again.

I expect a low scoring, sloppy, crappy game which will be close
both offenses will suck. We are at home and coming off an outright embarrassment. A lot of times teams bounce back well at being embarrassed especially when at home. Everyone has some pride. I also don't think Carolina is any good especially without McCaffrey. I am not saying the Giants are good, I am saying Carolina also sucks and this is a good set up for a decent Giants effort.

Teams on average have better second level depth then us. And that second level and even third level depth has dominated us this year. So I don't know where this optimism is coming just because a team has some front line personnel out for today. MAYBE if all our starters where playing then you can make that argument. But not when we are on second and third level depth.
really control the destiny of their coaches and management. another home blowout, the whole regime will be calling up realtors on those blue surface iPads by the third quarter as fans slowly walk up to the exits.

I will keep banging the drum on this false narrative until the cows come home, pointing to some obtuse emotional objective like players need to step up or look in the mirror, should be saved for rosters that belong on an NFL field. this is one of the most poorly constructed rosters in the NFL as you can see once you get to the second and third level depth of this team. The thin veneer of talent, as long as everything on earth falls into place was fool's gold going into this season. So many "ifs" and "buts" prefacing every sentence of optimism leading into 2021 should have been a big red flag that this team was built on a house of cards, injury prone cards that are falling just the way it planned.

Hi PP,
I agree, feel the same way about Denver aswell. 2 3-0 teams that had a pretty easy schedule early on and got some over hype.
what you folks see in David Sills. If we are hoping for the rebirth of Ed McCaffery sorry to bust your bubble. If we are doing the comparison game, maybe David reminds me of Ramses Bardin? He is no where near the athlete of Ed, Cooper Cupp or Theilen. So not sure the love affair.

Giants have a running back of their own that misses a game or two.
Like 17 - 14....not sure who's winning this one, but the Giants are a freaking MASH Unit! I'm sure injuries are going to be the excuse all season now. It just completely and utterly SUCKS to have to wait a whole off-season to see the same shit again for the 5th year in a row!
For me the most disappointing thing about the injuries is the excuse
To pass on making substantive changes to front office, coaches and players. The injuries this year delays the inevitable changes required to turn this franchise around.
Our dance with the devil continues after our SB wins in 2007 and 2011.

And of those two sets of teams, which are we like, especially when considering the Giants are missing at least 7 starters on offense (8 depending on Engram), not to mention three sub right guards and one other second stringer.
but this team doesnt need another " feel good " win. They need to get killed at home so the Mara/Tisch doesnt FOOL themselves AGAIN into thinking they are ok..
Not even Halloween and we are DOA.

the media narrative is going to be great.
Go Tampa.
It's all about the draft since Washington game when Dexter snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.
I assume the game is at 1:00 but haven’t even bothered to check.
Agree.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to be optimistic about either of those options.
