He is an average QB who can win games on a stacked team, be middle of the road on a mediocre team, and lose on a bad team (which is what he has largely done here).
He isn’t a bottom 10 QB. He is not a top 10 QB. He is an average QB. If he was a 3rd round pick he would be playing as expected. For the 6th overall pick you e pact to get a guy who elevates the team and makes the “wow” plays. He doesn’t do that.
If Gettleman had built a better roster around him he could be enough to run this offense successfully. But the team around him is garbage and he can’t elevate it with his skill set.
100% agree. Excellent perspective.
Is it possible, with all the injuries on offense, that the Giants team Jones is dealing with is worse in the NFL than his Duke was in the NCAA?
No. Bad NFL teams are still significantly better than bad college football teams.
Not surprising when the best receiver you're putting on the field couldn't start for another NFL team, and Jason Garrett only calls running plays inside the 10.
It helps that we’re not playing against Mahomes or Rodgers

He's going to get better ya know. Kind of want him to be a Giant when he does.
Not knocking Jones at all. Too bad for him he's never had a quality team around him.
Not throw pretty passes over the middle and have drives stall. You don't see a problem here?
Watch the game, please watch the fuckin game!
I'm watching. He's fine. It's not enough.
So you expect some Hurculean effort or it's not good enough. I think you've stated your case here, we get it!
I'm expressing my opinion. Just as you express yours. Is there some limit to the rules on mine, and not on yours? Why are you so upset? Are you a child? Or a grown man?
Hi Producer, how are you?
You should express your opinion, after all it is the reason why spaces like this exist I guess. And you are in the majority side I believe, most ppl think Jones isn't the guy.
And we get it, if you would hear my suggestion it's just that now it sounds like a broken record. We've never talked to each other, and I know exactly how you feel about our QB. You're a vocal poster.
Some people won't like it just because we all already know your opinion on this, it doesn't need validation, or at least you shouldn't think it does.
Anyway, most here just wanna root for us to win today, that's all. And I believe you do too.
Hi jomps, thanks for the civil reply. We should be blowing this team out. They're bad and making a lot of mistakes.
You're not gonna see any different from me.
And I agree, HT box score should read at least 14x3 for us, the one thing I think no one can deny is the heart of this kid, he is by far the player that cares the most in this roster. And he is alone.
Season looks and feels lost, but I do hope we win today, maybe a miracle vs the big bad Chiefs gives us something worth watching thru Nov and Dec.
This might be the worst broadcast for a game that I have watched. That includes the homers covering the Red Sox/Yankee game on ESPN years ago and that woman with the weird voice.

Possible.
It’s year number 3. His improvement from this point will likely be marginal. There is not some sort of straight line projection where QBs get better every year forever.
Yup!

Lol. Or the one that almost got us one more win before finishing 1-16
Shhhh

Since Week 4.
OMFG! That’s horrendous
DG will start trading picks for players tomorrow.
kicking it was the right move... two score game

And if we didn’t convert it would only be a one score game. Not a good idea.
Shockingly bad.

Defense has played well enough to be 4-3 this year. I refuse to blame the defense for this season.
Dude this game isn’t over yet!! Let’s really see who is bad.

Or we've become the 85 Bears. I don't know which one though.

You’re kidding, right?
remember the guy this morning here in BBI who wished Darnold lit us up today so it can be rubbed into DGs nose?
Yes. Thought the same thing. Referred to wrong players several time, even on other team.

We are only seven weeks in and he’s taken a beating.
