Who’s Back vs KC?

Samiam : 10/24/2021 4:50 pm
I get no Thomas and probably no Barkley but any word on when Golloday and Toney are returning? Guess that Shepard was close to playing today so I expect him to be back. Also, did anybody get hurt today? The way KC is playing plus Mahomes getting hurt puts the game in a different light.
Peart wound up on the sidelines due to getting shaken up;

Peart had something with his finger
Dave on the UWS : 10/24/2021 4:58 pm : link
He finished the game. Shep probably. Hope for either or both of Golladay and Toney. That would give us enough fire power against that defense to have a shot.
Fans are giddy, but come on......
Simms11 : 10/24/2021 4:59 pm : link
Is it realistic to think that we can go into KC on a Monday night and beat the Chiefs? This team still has the same flaws they’ve had all season....Oline still sucks ass, Defense played better, but it’s a step up in class next week. Lastly, team still shooting self in the foot and that’s only going to lead to losses in a league where those details will kill you.

Will it be tough? Yes. But especially if Holmes is out hurt and our defense shows up again like they did today and we get some WRs back on offense, it's entirely possible we can steal a win in KC
I'd wager
JonC : 10/24/2021 5:16 pm : link
Giants get the Chiefs best punch. It's an excellent get right game for KC, and they can't afford loss.
No one's giddy, we realize the Chiefs are still a much better team
BestFeature : 10/24/2021 5:24 pm : link
But this idea that Giants fans have to be miserable even after they win is lame.

Giants have Chiefs, Raiders, Bucs, Eagles next five weeks (bye in between). They really need to play well to win one of them. Winning two would be enormous. If they lose all four, the floor is likely to fall out on the season regardless of a weak second half grouping with Dolphins, Bears, Washington mixed in.

Eagles is a winnable game. They will be 2-5 and tied with us after this week
Mahomes Was Hurt
Samiam : 10/24/2021 5:35 pm : link
Even if he’s back, KC has a really bad defense. If the Giants are getting healthy, why the hell is this a guaranteed loss?

This stretch is why we knew they really needed to pull out the WFT and Falcons games. Probably the difference between 5 or 6 wins after 11 games instead of 4.

You’re either playing well or you aren’t. Kc looks shaky but nyg has no offense. If we had numbers I’d think we have a shot but again, who’s playing next week....
Of course you don't lol

I am a Giant fan. I am old so I tend to be respectful on this forum,
plato : 10/24/2021 6:46 pm : link
but I must say so many posters who have registered in the past 5 -7 years are intolerable with their emotionalism, expressed hatred of Giant ownership, FO, coaching staff, etc that I am embarrassed. Eric began this as “Pete’s Corner” and there never was such loathsome expressions of hatred that if it weren’t for Eric and a few others I would have left long ago.

But I am a Giant fan and this remains best place to read Giant news. So I wish we could just control our emotions and make sense. That is “play nicely.” Enjoy a win, and see you in Kansas City.

You like to label every point I make as blind loyalty. This isn’t that but ok.

I don’t believe in teams winning games simply because they are due. I think that’s a flawed way to look at teams and even more flawed if you’re gambling with that logic in mind. Did I say the season was saved today or that nyg wins next week? No. I said KC looks like dog shit. Teams don’t hide in the nfl for very long and KC is yet another example of this.
But thx for fighting the good fight

I bet 50 the giants would beat a good chiefs team. They did. That was a nice little $400 game. But at the time Alex smith was the qb. I just had this feeling that he’d have a bad game throwing to receivers like he did in the NFC champ game. One of my better reads pre game

SO we shut down an anemic offensive team in the Panthers and now all of sudden our defense is going to hold down KC? Anything is possible but the fact anyone would bring that up as if "expecting it" just goes show the lunacy some have on here.

And the poster that has taken Parcells’s comment completely out of context. SO if all records are the same then it’s implied that for example last year the NFC East being the worst division in the modern era was no different in terms of quality than being in the toughest division? The point is, Parcel’s comment was never meant to compare two teams, it was to illustrate that you aren’t good. But ofc a Giants fan feel a need to change that narrative.

And the other poster implying that you are a “bad fan?” You’re not a bad fan at all. It’s just that you’re not living in some delusional fantasy world like some other Giants fans. Denying reality doesn’t make someone a good fan.

I'm not a doom and gloomer but you don't think teams can be motivated if desperate? Particularly against a team like the Giants that is injured and not that great?

You're free to believe what you wish, but I fully expect the best shot KC's got while needing a win to level their record, and their offense has plenty to beat the Giants. Reid will have them focused and ready to play well, bet they hang 30+ on the Giants.
we come out and stomp KC. they were a good team - last year

I agree it could be a good time to get KC

but man there's a lot of posters minimizing KC right now. I didn't see anything yesterday to suggest the Giants could hang with KC in a shootout likely to come.

for me at least its not anything Giants did, its that KC looks awful and disinterested, maybe that changes this week but their offense doesnt look as explosive and their defense is terrible
Also having this game monday night

and have been a tough matchup for KC in recent years. KC wasn't ready for the war yesterday and got embarrassed. Expect a better performance next Monday, and Reid will have a gameplan for the Giants defense.

Tbis has been the chiefs all year, this isnt anything that just the Titans did

JonC : 10/25/2021 9:53 am : link
They're scoring plenty until yesterday, and the Titans on rolling right now. You guys believe what you wish, the Giants need to win a game like this to take the next step. You really think they're ready for it? Especially with some of their best offensive players injured or out?
We can’t run the ball
GNewGiants : 10/25/2021 9:54 am : link
Like Tennessee can so expect many drives for KC.

If we don’t get pressure - they will score plenty.
Titans stuffed the KC offense
JonC : 10/25/2021 9:58 am : link
no other team has done that, they're built to match up well with KC. KC will score plenty on Monday night.

i don't expect Giants to win, but to say that Chiefs are going to walk all over us in a get right game would be a mistake in my opinion. Everyone said the same thing about New Orleans.

BSIMatt : 10/25/2021 1:44 pm : link
to give the offense a chance to hang in this one. Hoping at least for Shep and Toney. We don't have enough good players for our best players to be sitting and expect to win against a team as talented offensively as KC.

Chris Jones has been banged up, and got hurt again vs Tennessee, if for some reason he had to sit out that would be help Giants interior OL a lot.

I think too many people saw NO and thought of the Brees-led teams of the past. It is not a good offensive team right now. KC is, despite yesterday's shellacking. Our D played much better yesterday, even if it was v. some of the worst QB play I've seen in recent memory.

I think KC will be a good test for them, to see if yesterday was a real step forward, or just playing a bad offense at the right time.

If he sticks with the run, the Saints should've won the game. They're not good enough for him to play call and make game decisions with his ego. He coached like an ahole, that loss is on him.

Chris Jones hasn't been on the defensive interior for a bit, he's been starting as an edge rusher (I think it's kinda strange, does he have the speed?).
