As ST-centric as this team is, you'd think between Judge, McCaughey and Quinn, someone could get this guy to better execute pinning the opponent inside the 10. Many times this year he's blasted balls into the EZ, mitigating the whole reason we didn't go for it on 4th down. I keep waiting for him to hit a moon ball that gives our gunners time to get downfield and down one inside the 5. And the next coffin-corner kick I see from him will be the first. We've got Feagles 'in the building' doing radio work with Schmeelk...can't we get him to come out to the practice field and help Dixon with his technique? I'm only half kidding.

Outside of Gano, Judge's special team performers were disappointing as last year finished up, and flat out bad this year in I think every game. Several more penalties yesterday hurting field position, and some awful blocking against opposing gunners who easily take out our returners.
Apologies for stating the obvious, but not a good look for a Head Coach with his background. Only displaying his weaknesses just as much as some players...
I don't think we've had a good KO or punt return, nor a tackle that has caused a turnover.
Weird.
On a team that's 8-15 overall, you'd think specials would be the one area we'd shine.
He's near the top of the league in number of punts and dead last in punts downed inside the 20. Just awful.
I know cool story bro...
Gotta perform though. I hope he improves.

There is also a very good punting prospect from San Diego st guy had a endzone to endzone punt Saturday
That said Gano has been great, and the coverage teams have been good. The return teams are not good or bad
that's dumb, he's the opposite. he's not afraid to cut players he's signed to contracts (Omameh), trade players he signed to contracts (Odell) or he's drafted (Baker)
You want someone competent there of course, but I doubt there’s much of a difference between the 10th and 25th best NFL punters when it comes to win probability added.

I've seen many a playoff game decided by the punter, including NYG punters and those playing against them.

in today’s NFL. It’s just not an important position in today’s NFL. Many of the situations where you try to “pin an opponent back inside the 20” are situations where you’re better going for it on 4th down.

thank you.

KC got in trouble last year due to inconsistency with their Punter. Helps having Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce to bail them out. Dixon is having awful year as a P, but there has been no issues with the snaps and holds on XP and FG's so does that count for something?
our punter gets paid well and sucks
pls cut him

To minimize a punter easily can cost you a game or two every year....
No, but he's sure as hell helping them lose!

O.K., he's got a great leg for distance but can he drop the short punts short of the end zone?

I think Araiza is only a Junior.
I am admittedly biased, but I watch MSU every week and their punt team has been great and a big part of the is Barringer. He has the leg, but also can kick out of bounds and doesn't outkick the coverage.

Prime- any way we can get @Jfeagles down to the practice field to teach Dixon how to coffin corner or not to blast pretty much every punt with a chance to be downed inside the 10 out the back of the EZ? Thought this was supposed to be a ST-centric coaching staff?
@lt4kicks
Replying to @JRyanPerkins and @Jfeagles
What Feagles did is a lost art brother. I don’t think many guys can do it anymore

Yeah, I never understood that. It seems like a very effective style, but it's never been widely used. Easier said than done I guess, but it really seems like more guys should punt that way.
