Not sure that anyone other than Igor deserves their game check tonight. Every other Ranger pretty much mailed it in. I guess they thought four razor-thin road wins in a row entitled them to a night off at home.
What was most disturbing other than our best players going AWOL all game was Calgary’s ability to send one forechecker who ruined so many offensive possessions.

I’m here on BBI all the time…actually too much time. But I rarely post because I don’t care to get involved in BBI politics. Yet being at this underwhelming home effort at MSG tonight and being so badly overwhelmed by a good but not great Calgary team rankled. Too many name Ranger players came up no-name tonight. And that’s too often the case. Igor and Adam excepted.

One thing I noticed: The Dmen consistently back in and cede the blue line. On the first goal in particular, Igor was out almost as far as the D. Their asses were in his face. THat's no way to play defense.
so highly regarded? There isn't one aspect of his game that is above average.
Been saying this since day one. Not fast, not physical, not a natural scorer - have not seen anything special about this kid. The Rangers drafted two forwards one and two overall that don't score. Does not seem possible.

Agreed. He was supposed to have an above average shot and have good hockey vision. Not super high end talent. Poor man's John Tavares playing wing.
Laf does not. Only the Rangers could win the #1 pick who everyone thought was a sure all star and wind up with a guy who if he was drafted in the 2nd round would be in the AHL.

When he was drafted they were comparing him to other top picks like MacKinnon, etc.. That’s laughable at this point. At least Kakko has made strides and I can definitely see him as a top 6 forward.
