After looking at the tape again, it seems that he gets pushed into the backfield anytime a nose tackle is lined up against him. That blows up any type of short yardage running play. It prevents the back from moving forward and gives time for someone else to make a play in the backfield.
I think he's a real liability, single handedly not allowing us to run the ball near the goal line.
And at the same time, the team moved a quality improving center out of that spot. Terrible move!
Really?? Price may be average at best but he is STARTING because we didn't have another option. The legend of BJ Hill is comical at best!
Desperation. Lost two starting IOLs and this is the result. A good question is what would it be like without him and an even worse player at C or G if Skura was the C.
Maybe, but Bredeson just came off the IL. I think we'll know this week based on which one starts in KC, or maybe both start?

No idea why we traded a quality defensive lineman for him. Another Gettleman special.

What’s comical is your thinking Price is an average player.
He’s not a good player but he is still better than Spencer Pulley or Halapio which isn’t saying much. He’s a backup caliber center nothing more. I hope the Giants add a veteran center capable of starting preferably Ted Karras.
I would also be happy with the Giants using their second 1st round pick on G/C Tyler Linderbaum. If Gates makes a full recovery he could move over to guard permanently.
I think that the Giants clearly have their tackle duo for the foreseeable future but the interior is a huge question mark.
B.J. Hill is a solid, rotational DT, and therefore a much better player than Price. But the need for OL around the league is so dire that even trading someone like Hill only gets you an OL as good as Price.
I think that’s the best 5. Price should not be back for anything more than the minimum, if that.
I think Linderbaum with the lower of the 2 1st rounders would be a great pick. He is a blue chip center prospect.
Moves Gates to guard, plus they have Lemieux coming back and Bredeson as depth. But would also want a day 2 pick with some G/T flexibility. Maybe the guy from NC state if he lasts until round 2.

isn't great, but he isn't horrible. I would say he is slightly below average and considering he is a backup starting pretty much all season we are lucky to have him. Most backups are worst than slightly below average.
