After looking at the tape again, it seems that he gets pushed into the backfield anytime a nose tackle is lined up against him. That blows up any type of short yardage running play. It prevents the back from moving forward and gives time for someone else to make a play in the backfield.

I think he's a real liability, single handedly not allowing us to run the ball near the goal line.
He’s not a good player

No idea why we traded a quality defensive lineman for him. Another Gettleman special.

And at the same time, the team moved a quality improving center out of that spot. Terrible move!

Really?? Price may be average at best but he is STARTING because we didn't have another option. The legend of BJ Hill is comical at best!

Desperation. Lost two starting IOLs and this is the result. A good question is what would it be like without him and an even worse player at C or G if Skura was the C.
Side question
UberAlias : 10/26/2021 11:17 am : link
But is Skura starting over Bredeson now? Hard to keep track of the movement in the middle.

Maybe, but Bredeson just came off the IL. I think we'll know this week based on which one starts in KC, or maybe both start?
Ok got it

isn't great, but he isn't horrible. I would say he is slightly below average and considering he is a backup starting pretty much all season we are lucky to have him. Most backups are worst than slightly below average.

What’s comical is your thinking Price is an average player.

He’s not a good player but he is still better than Spencer Pulley or Halapio which isn’t saying much. He’s a backup caliber center nothing more. I hope the Giants add a veteran center capable of starting preferably Ted Karras.

I would also be happy with the Giants using their second 1st round pick on G/C Tyler Linderbaum. If Gates makes a full recovery he could move over to guard permanently.

I think that the Giants clearly have their tackle duo for the foreseeable future but the interior is a huge question mark.

is a below average player IMO. He sometimes is walked back to the QB, and like Hernandez has little lateral mobility. I see him beaten on a lot of quick inside swim moves that frequently give the opposing player a free run at Jones or a RB.

B.J. Hill is a solid, rotational DT, and therefore a much better player than Price. But the need for OL around the league is so dire that even trading someone like Hill only gets you an OL as good as Price.
I didn't expect much from Price
JFIB : 10/26/2021 12:37 pm : link
But the real disappointment is Hernandez! He misses more blocks than any guard I have noticed in years. And picking up stunts?!? Forget about it. In my opinion, the best case scenario is Peart and Thomas man the tackle spots next year and we draft 2 new bad ass guards and one edge rusher with our first three picks. Hoping that one of our original now IR'd interior guys can man the center spot next year.
Price is awful
Breeze_94 : 10/26/2021 1:22 pm : link
Hoping we see Thomas-Bredeson-Skura-Hernandez-Peart when everyone is back healthy

I think that’s the best 5. Price should not be back for anything more than the minimum, if that.

I think Linderbaum with the lower of the 2 1st rounders would be a great pick. He is a blue chip center prospect.

Moves Gates to guard, plus they have Lemieux coming back and Bredeson as depth. But would also want a day 2 pick with some G/T flexibility. Maybe the guy from NC state if he lasts until round 2.
I think Price looks undersized and not strong enough

For the NFL. He kind of reminds me of Richburg, but not as good.

How do we have CLEARLY have the OT duo for the future? Peart can't play over Solder and looks worse this year and Thomas can't stay on the field.
He does gets pushed back...

Kind of like Pio. Kind of like Pully. Well actually maybe not as bad as those guys did. Too bad we didn't have a spare starting center. Have to make the best of an awful situation.
