I am so pumped. I still can’t believe they made it to the World Series without Mike Soroka for the entire season and Acuna missing most of the season. They will be even tougher with both back next year.
I just hope that Snitker doesn’t go to Luke Jackson in any high leverage situations. Had he refrained from doing so last series the Braves would have swept the Dodgers.
That'd be like someone in 1921 uttering, 'You know...I don't get the hate on the 1919 Chicago White Sox.'
So totally different... but I'll play anyway.
Yeah, if all the teams were doing it and the Black Sox got caught, I'd probably say that.
Mike Piazza is my favorite player all time. How can I, with a straight face, rip on a team for cheating when my favorite player was a massively successful cheater?
moze, I think there's a huge difference between those who juiced & what the 'Stros did. I think a lot of dudes were juicing back then. As far as I know, no one did what the 'Stros did, thus why the MLB came down so hard on them.
I don't mind Dusty Baker & I'm obviously no Braves fan so I won't be losing sleep if the 'Stros take it all, but I ain't rooting for them.
I guess I'm pulling more for the Astros. developed a dislike for the Braves in the 90s, even though they were great. But if they win, I'm cool with it.

Understood... I think there were rumors the Yankees and the Red Sox employed similar systems and I find it hard to believe that only 1 rogue team was doing it and they just happened to win the WS... they just got caught..
Has anyone taken the PED heat more than Clemens and Bonds (the best)? Has anyone gotten more punishment than the Patriots (the best)? The best get investigated and caught... the rest quietly go about their business and act like they never did it...
With ALL that said... I'm rooting for the Astros but if the Braves win I won't be upset, even as a Mets fan. Only NL East team I hate is the Phillies...
Outfielders Jorge Soler, Eddie Rosario, and Joc Pederson are all free agents plus Adam Duvall has a team option for $9 million. I would love to bring back Soler and Rosario on 1-2 year deals.
Great start so far, but I'm having Jim Leyritz PTSD flashbacks

No one did what the Astros did and then they doubled down and did it again after being warned by the league.
Cora wasn't sat for a year for nothing and the Yanks got a wrist slap for something.
Morton leaves early with a lower body injury. If he can’t pitch the rest of the series the Braves are in very big trouble. Versus the Dodgers they lost one SP Huascar Ynoa for the rest of the playoffs.

Shrug
No one got CAUGHT doing what the Astros did
Cora sat for a year because he got CAUGHT
Look I've been consistent about this crap since the first little inkling of vitriol against Bonds...don't hate on the cheaters because your dudes are probably cheating too..
I hate on the guys who play dangerously between the lines..like that piece of garbage Chase Utley...he's the guy who should never even sniff the HOF because of what he did. That bothers me more than anything the Astros, or Mike Scott (lol also Astros), or Barry Bonds did... hell I am more bothered by the splintered bat throw than the steroids when it comes to Clemens..

tough break Jay, apparently out for the series. That just sucks

🙄 JFC. Chase Utley? Oh god. Because he what, broke Ruben Tejada’s leg on a hard play?
He’s a very good player don’t get me wrong. I’m an AL guy so don’t get to watch or follow much nl ball but do fans generally view him as a future HOFer?

Not sure what Atlanta will do to replace him. We will see at least one bullpen game but they might be forced to start Kyle Wright.

If he stays healthy and continues to hit like he has for another 5+ years he has a great shot. He’s as consistent as they come plus he has an MVP award under his belt. He’s just a great all around player who may hit the FA market.

Sad, bitter Met fan alert.
LOL... that wasnt a hard play, it was an intentional attempt to injure someone. It was also his 2nd attempt at breaking Tejada's leg. He tried it once in September 2010. Pretty well known that guys around MLB had very little respect for that dude.. cheap player all around.
Bringing back to this thread.. Freeman polar opposite. Almost impossible to dislike the guy. Always just does his job, and more...and plays the game the right way.

They’ll likely throw Smyly out there in place of Morton. Wright may get a start in a bullpen game with a very short leash.

That's what concerns me. Smyly has been awful for most of the year but he pitches much better out of the pen. I wish Tucker Davidson was available because I would love to see him replace Morton on the WS roster. Kyle Muller is another intriguing option.
Jorge Soler (R) DH
Freddie Freeman (L) 1B
Ozzie Albies (S) 2B
Austin Riley (R) 3B
Eddie Rosario (L) LF
Adam Duvall (R) CF
Travis d'Arnaud (R) C
Joc Pederson (L) RF
Dansby Swanson (R) SS
HOU
Jose Altuve (R) 2B
Michael Brantley (L) LF
Alex Bregman (R) 3B
Yordan Alvarez (L) DH
Carlos Correa (R) SS

Yuli Gurriel (R) 1B
Chas McCormick (R) CF
Martin Maldonado (R) C
Morton vs. Valdez

Watched every pitch, but will be casual viewer of the Series.
But you can count on a Braves victory, Dusty Baker manages the Astros.
