Should

have kept Yiadom.
Why was Jackson even here?
Angel Eyes : 10/26/2021 5:06 pm : link
Just seemed to be dead weight given that he was a healthy scratch most games this year.
Costly drop for Sills

He had to make that catch..

I guess another team will get to pick up the next "All Pro"/Victor Cruz.

Maybe the clowns on this site will follow that team's message board and leave this one....
Can't believe we released two legendary Giants

They were going to cut Yiadom so they took a chance on a former second round pick. The Packers did the same thing. They were going to cut Jackson so they took a chance on Yiadom, who I assume is still with them.

It was a dumb gamble, Yiadom was at least giving you effort all the time, and yeah he is still there.
We also cut Woodrow Hamilton from the PS

dropped a lot of balls in the preseason too, I didn't see anything special from him that others were claiming..

It's

all about DBs with DG, and his record is quite poor, as evidenced by the fact that both our starting CBs were expensive FAs. Hopefully, we'll get something from Reed.

Really. The #7 or #8 CB being cut is a L? He's screwed up other things, this is not one of them.

Yiadom sucked - he absolutely did. If he was worth anything he'd have been kept.

They wouldn't have cut the guy if his play wasn't consistent with what they have seen from him in preseason and practice. He's not a breakout player who happened to drop the ball.

I wasn't a "Sills guy" but I do feel for him.

I was the opening day shortstop for my Little League team back in the day.

First inning, first batter hits a bloop single to right.

Next batter hits a line drive to my left. I caught it easily for out #1.

Then I looked over to first and saw that the runner was too far off the bag.

I can still see the expression on his face as he realized I had him dead to rights.

I took my time, pivoted, and made the throw to first, about 10 feet over the first baseman's head and into the stands.

Next inning the coach moved me to LF.

I never played SS again at any level. Not even in a softball game at the company picnic.

Sometimes you only get one chance. I hope Sills gets a second one.

Well, the fact we traded for him and had no intent on using him.

Yeah, you think about all the time and effort you have put in to make it to the NFL level, and when you finally get that chance to really shine (he could have had some good YAC if he caught that) you fail. That has to be heartbreaking for a fringe NFL player.
I agree with you, I hope he gets another chance

If he was a breakout player he wouldn't have been waived. My point was here the poor guy finally has a chance to shine and for some reason, he fails. That is something that even when he's in his 60's he will still think about and that's a tough thing to carry.
Yiadom was not good here

Give Getts all crap you want bit I like Bradberry, Jackson, and McKinney,,and Ryan

even Holmes was decent last week sans penalties on specials
Just another exhibition and example

of how far the anti-Gettleman sentiment will go. It's not rational and it has nothing to do with the Giants GM.

I had a similar LL experience but I messed up playing 2B and spent the rest of my 4 year career in RF ... yes, RF. Btw, Sills had to be waived before he can return to the PS. Not sure it will happen, but it’s a definite maybe.

In my case I don't see the point of trading for Jackson if we had no intention of using him, trading for him just because.

The problem is not that we lost Yiadom for nothing, it is that we accepted this garbage rather than a draft pick

Sometimes you need bodies vs draft picks. Maybe if Aaron Robinson was healthy, they would have tried a draft pick, assuming someone would have traded one for him. I mean we traded a 7th for the guy, so at best thats what we were getting back. Maybe it was take a player back or get a 2023 7th rounder or something and the Giants thought a gamble on a player was better.

I am not going to kill them for this move, it's bottom roster churn.
