that he had both an ankle and knee injury after that game so makes sense I suppose. Seemed to be walking gingerly in the postgame locker room video as well though it was somewhat hard to tell.
I don't think he would have been traded anyway, but this makes it final because the trade deadline is less than three weeks away, which is the earliest he can return.

Giants put Jabrill Peppers on injured reserve.
He has two injuries to his right leg: A rupture to the ACL in his knee and a high ankle sprain.

I don't think he was coming back nor was he getting a huge contract but this will severely hurt his value on the market this summer. Probably will have to sign a 1-year "prove it" deal - gotta feel for the guy. Say what you will about his inability to cover TE's but he always brought energy and was voted a captain.
Sure, he tried hard. I don't people dispute that. But he's not that good & isn't a long term piece here hence the trade talk. It sucks, but this is first & foremost a business. Now him being traded is moot so there's that.
Hitting free agency coming off an ACL injury likely means a one year prove it deal with someone.
And yes it sounds callous, but was hoping we could flip him to a contender at the deadline which is obviously not happening now.
Thanks for the effort, Jabril.
I don’t think this is necessarily the case. I’ve some NFL people say the players are almost always benefited by shorter contracts. The idea is that each bite at apple of free agency is a good thing. Andrew Brandt talked about this at length after Dak got hurt. But, idk for sure.
I don't think you can trade players on IR can you? Or... well... I guess the question is, would a team want to?
Any player put on IR after 53 man roster is set can be designated to return.

The three-week IR or the season-ending IR?

I guess I meant the severity of his injury.
Yep. FUCK

Giants are about to face a slew of pretty damn good QBs and Peppers was going to be eaten alive if put into coverage...
I know, what the hell is going on with this team and injuries? Do they have these guys jump into a tub of ice before the game instead of after it?

Sometimes you just can't tell with injuries. It's obviously a lot more serious than it looked.

According to Stapleton. Wow.

Another ACL tear. How many is that this year? R. Williams is the other one I can think of.

Exactly, played with hustle and heart every game.
It’s also nice when your starting safety can cover anyone, even tight ends, which he can’t.

Darnay Holmes was doing some during the Panthers game.
Certainly wasn't signing a big multi year deal....but a one year prove it deal...is far more likely.
