As for building an identity around defense and the front seven, there's already a team in the NFC East that has been trying to do that, and they are just as bad as the Giants.

If he'd thrown 10, which would still be behind the league's better passers, we'd probably be 5-2 right now, and not 2-5, regardless of the defense.
Sure, we need to improve defensively, but we need to improve far more on the offense.

Daniel Jones- He is better than half the QBs now starting and has tremendous upside when he has a solid Oline and his weapons back

Toney. As exciting a player as we have ever had. Enormous talent

Barkley. A flawed RB who has no presence between the tackles- but terrific in the open field...we have to figure out how to use him. He has no stomach for the hard knocks between the tackles. He might be best used as 3rd down specialist if he can learn to block better. He kind of reminds me of Reggie Bush

In short observing the Giants as an opponent I would say we are a dangerous opponent, which often self destructs but could beat any other team on a given day.

Personally, I hope we have reached an inflection point and can now get on a run or mini run at the least. Judge needs to relieve Garrett of his play calling duties though. His conservative play calling is killing us.

the Titans have been a 9-10-11 win team and a postseason threat because they lead the league in rushing or close to it. QB is ok. Defense was good, now is shite or average, but they still win games because they can lean on greatness, the running game.

Ravens--same
Niners had the D and OL--now taking on water
Seattle had Wilson now they suck because GEno Smith
Packers - Rodgers and the passing game
Dallas has the offense

We should have moved heaven and earth to turn this D from ok or even pretty good into an elite unit OR turned something on offense from bad or pretty good to elite. They spread the wealth like they always do, and what we have is pretty or pretty bad across the board. And that won't do.

i'd focus every resource we have on the unit that is closest to being elite. BE it the passing game, running game, D, whatever....either save the whales or draft 2 linebackers/edges...

I think the Giants have one of the most consistent identities of any team in the NFL. I think you mean the Giants need a new one.
