Sunday Night... get out of the shower and bamm. My right side starts hurting. I thought my appendix was the issue. I go to the hospital in alot of pain. Doctor says.. "ever had kidney stones before". i say nope. turns out it was. 2mm. Funny thing was other people were in the ER for it as well.
Monday was horrible. intermittent moments of ok pain to "holy fuck" pain. Took some motrin and then at night a perc to sleep. Drank a shit ton of water. im talking alot of water.
Tuesday, woke up with no pain. no issues. but still drinking water to push this fucker out. Peeing in a strainer is so dumb but it had to be done. at night, out comes this little pencil lead tip. that small fucking thing sent me to the hospital.
Now i ask. I have an appointment with the urologist to go over what happened and to give them to stone to see which one it is. But alot of people said, once you have one, you are prone for having more. Were you or someone you knew of that didnt have it ever again? As in it was a one and done.
just checking and yes i know the doc will answer but looking for some hope thats all lol
-almonds
-spinach
-raspberries
-nuts/nut butters
If oxalates are the issue, aim for high calcium/low sodium diet as calcium bonds to the oxalates. And yes water water water.
There are a couple great Docs at Johns Hopkins and GWU who deal specifically with stones. Check them out.

"No thanks" says the kidney stone, "I'm just passing through"
There's nothing like the feeling of having to take the worst piss of your life and not being able to squeeze out a drop. Wow.
No Keto. in fact my diet hasnt changed. Been eating the same for several years now.
my son had one last year, needed surgery 6mm
it was a monster
The moderately helpful thing was that all the females there said they had sympathy. One even said she thought it was the only pain comparable to giving birth.
Eleven days. ELEVEN fuckin g days later. It either dissipated or passed. Had some pretty decent meds, and worked most of the days, but goddamn, that non-medicated time ... fuck all ...
Really hopeful I don't ever have to go through that again.
Been told (and have followed the advice) that lemon/lime juice helps ... stay hydrated AF, too. Also, apple-cider vinegar shots when you can handle it.
cjac's boy is a fucking stud.
Mine were do to calcium build up
Despite my best efforts the stones kept reoccurring
I tried taking apple cider vinegar , fluids including diet coke, I altered my diet eliminating fats but to no avail
Then I lost a lot of weight and started drinking copious amounts of water and all of the sudden the stones started to dissipate
I don't know why the stones stopped but I am not complaining
Had yet another 6 months after that.
I cleaned up my diet and, in particular, started drinking much more water and haven't had any more in the 10 years since.
Good luck!
Never passed one and they've never bothered me. They're just lying dormant in my kidneys, but I have to get a sonogram every year to monitor them.

So, do you think maybe you take it out on Jones because you can't eat meat? :) I know if I couldn't I'd be pissed at someone
This happened twice in 24 hours. Once while at work. I went into the gym in my office and fell onto the floor. Crawled into what turned out to be the lactation room where, while laying fetal and groaning on the floor, was reminded by a delightful young see you next tuesday that the room was only for mothers. She never asked me if I was OK.
That stuff almost made me wish for another kidney stone it felt so good.

Similar experience to yours. I was told by my doctor that genetics play a part (my mom had had one), and that someone who's had one is more likely to have another than someone who hasn't. I was basically told to drink a shitload of water. And improve my diet. That was a wake up call. Since then I drink a ton of water and moved to a completely vegetarian diet. Feel great and haven't had any issues since.

I can eat meat. Just don't want to anymore and don't miss it. Sort of like watching Jones play. 🙂

I’ve had 5 cases of stones. Every time went to ER for dilaudid IV
The worst pain ever
No more grapefruit juice or Snapple iced tea
Oxalic acid causes them
Thank God for dilaudid! Takes pain that brings you to your knees and makes it ALMOST painless. Much stronger than morphine which barely dulled the pain 1st time.
Urologist said in men the major cause of stones is not necessarily heredity but dehydration. I know drink 4-5 17oz bottles of water each day ( Dr. recommended 6-7!)
The last one I got up at 4am and told my wife we need to go to the ER.
She asked me how I knew it was a kidney stone and told her, I never forgot that pain.
Long story short my x-rays showed a mass on my kidney turned out to be cancer.
It was caught in a very early stage and was cut out.
The kidney stone probably saved my life.

She goes oh there's a look.
I’ve had 3 I think total. They all suck. I was at work when I had one and my wife had to get me and bring me to hospital-on the way, the pain went away completely. It’s very frustrating. The last one I had, they gave me some pill to help me pee and said don’t take it until evening time. I was in horrible pain all Sunday, literally just sat in bed all day, and it took this pill early evening and the pain was gone and it passed immediately. I wish I knew I would have taken it early and not been knocked out all day.

Yeah mine was a direct result of Ice Tea, have not had any since I stopped drinking that
my diet hasnt changed and have had blood tests that show all normal. baffling shit.
now i have some PTSD from it. If my side aches alittle, im worried. this sucks
Snake oil. There is zero medical evidence that it works. Also sold as "stone breaker". But some people swear it works because they passed a stone when they took it. As I like to tell them, "correlation is not causation" - not that it does any good.
