I don't have that feeling about Thomas's availability. He really is not doing much at this point and it seems like a week is probably not going to happen. But, I hope I am wrong. Also, would love to have Shep back, but I doubt that is going to happen either (seemed like a more serious injury than 2-3 weeks).

the way Shep played in his last game (like he was high), I don't really care if he comes back.
They can't hold up whatsoever on the edge when they have to pass.
Sadly, Jones has learned the move to escape in between the crease created from the Guard to Tackle once Nate Solder has given up an immediate pressure.
Thats my concern as well. We cant waste a game letting this guy flounder all over the field, trying to get comfortable. Either he plays well or cant be a big part of the plan.
Thomas is more important than Barkley though it would be nice

Might be the best thing to let him ride the bench until he proves he can step in and play. Give him opportunities but handing him the start and the bulk of the snaps is stupid at this point.
to the organization to get AT back at LT and play Peart at RT so they can be evaluated properly....it's a very important piece moving forward before the draft rolls around to know what they are working with at the OT position.
Barkley simply doesn't have much impact on the offense
They say it is a ankle/foot but it seems something has been bothering him all the way back to the Patriots scrimmage. I did hear Judge say "he got the ankle rolled good" a few weeks ago. I wonder if it is the high ankle sprain. Rather him wait until he is 100% than have him try playing and have a setback.
Why aren't we going anywhere this season? I'm not suggesting the Giants rush anyone back, but beating the Bucs will put Big Blue in the thick of the hunt for that last playoff spot and with momentum on their side. I'm sure the tiresome and miserable will immediately pooh pooh the victory, but the reality is the Giants still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. So shouldn't we be rooting for that?

I root for the Giants every week. But I am a realist who knows the chances of us making a run are slim. Sure it's possible, but slim. I wouldn't rush back a guy that could be the anchor of the OL for 10 years just to help us get a win when we are 3-6 on the outside looking in if it could lead to ending his career or setting it back a couple years.
I questioned it when it happened but said to myself "they are the experts". I'm still asking that question. Did they think he could have returned in two weeks time??

If it was not for the COVID thing he would have been active for the raiders.
Judge indictated that Barkley is “behind” due to missing time. I wonder if this is setting up for a smaller role, perhaps as the third down back or something for now.
I would just ensure that AT does not return until he is 100%. This is our long term answer at a critical position.
thomas will not be the long-term answer if he turns out to be injury-prone any more than barkley is the long-term answer at running back. jury is still out on that re: thomas. we already know what barkley is.

I wouldn't rush anyone back if they have an increased chance of further injury. But if he's cleared to play, he should play. This is a pivotal game. A win would shine a whole new light on the season (something that the tiresome and miserable desperately fear) and give the Giants momentum for a homestretch that's not so daunting. A loss, well, it doesn't officially put a nail in the coffin, but the vultures will be out and they will be loud and annoying. Who the fuck wants that?

I took that specific comment to mean he's behind "technically" because without the Covid false alarm he would've suited up against the Rams.
For those who say Barkley is a non-factor. Re-watch the Saints game. Obviously he has to be on the field to have an impact, but it's silly to suggest he he won't if he's healthy.

The so-called vultures? They've been out.
Deservedly so. They don't need loss #7 to convince anyone the Giants are not going anywhere, especially to the playoffs.
What is annoying is players such as Barkley not living to their draft hype or sporting a losing record by mid-November almost every single year since 2013.

My whole premise is based around IF he's rushing back. If he's 100% yea he should play. But if this is one of those instances where in the third quarter we see him on the turf and hear the announcer say "they may have rushed him back from his injury", I wouldn't be pleased at all.

Nobody's 100%. My only issue was with your statement that "we aren't going anywhere this season." That's still to be determined. The Giants weren't going anywhere in 2007 and 2011 until they were. The Super Bowl will go to whoever gets hot (and healthy) in December and January.

We weren't 3-6 those years.
The Giants have shown themselves to be "hot and healthy" for about 10 minutes all season long so far. That was the period halfway thru the 4QTR and into OT versus New Orleans.
The Giants would be loco to give Saquon a second contract.
It's bad even if he somehow "Regains form", but I could easily see Mara saying "he's talented, we're invested in Saquon Barkley being a Giant for years to come" and "it's the right thing to do".
unsure of our chances even with a full staff
the way Shep played in his last game (like he was high), I don't really care if he comes back.
They are a banged up crew.
Giants coming off a win - a bye - and getting healthy.
Time to man up and get a W.
He was the shell of what we drafted before this last injury I can't expect much from him in this game.
Sadly, Jones has learned the move to escape in between the crease created from the Guard to Tackle once Nate Solder has given up an immediate pressure.
Shepard is a JAG to me.

Andre Thomas I'm glad to see back.
Agreed. We aren't going anywhere this season. Let the guy heal, don't rush him back.
It looks like the Giants put themselves in a bind with him. Is the SportTrac info correct?
opt out after this season for a 7.9 in Dead cap OR keep him and take a 12 and 14 million dollar cap hit the following two seasons?

Then he's off the field again, due to injury.
I love the guy, but damn, I really expect to see a lot more from him ...just so oft-injured.

I like Shep but that really was an awful contract.

Other than that, neither hot nor healthy...

This guy replaced Orleans Darkwa in 2018 and Darkwa was jut coming into his prime
Avg 4.89YPC and 50 YP game.
Darkwa it seems is out of football and thats a damn shame.
Wonder what happened to the poor guy
Barkley was and is a College RB, who needs a huge hole to advance the football on the ground
If Barkley returns with his dancing feet we are doomed
Of late it seems most NFL D's are dropping deep and the RB are again the kingpin to success
Of late it seems the NFL D
If
Darkwa found the seams....

Shep is a non-explosive Cruz and a less refined and reliable Steve Smith.
They have lost 2 in a row and we nearly beat them last year without this revitalized D and Booker
Giants 27 Tampa 17
In case anyone has forgotten, SB Champs very very rarely repeat
Not to mention they have aa potential Grampa at QB
We will roll....we are coming into our own at just the right time

Ruin Dallas season by getting a lowblow cheap shot on Dak. Other than that? Boring.

What? Forget the 1st sentence - ok I understand.
Advocating hurting a player with a cheap shot is reprehensible.
AT is definitely the bigger need anyway. If he plays, I’d consider us at full strength.
