I keep reading posts in numerous threads about how this is a bad time for the Giants to play Tampa Bay because the ‘Bucs have lost 2 in a row and they will be oh so “angry” coming into the game.
I mean, how can the Giants possibly win a game if all the players on the opposing team are ANGRY?
But there is a psychological flip side to this kind of anger and it’s called “self doubt”.
The fact is that Tampa has lost 2 in a row to inferior teams because they haven’t been playing well. So while losing may make them angry, it likely also makes them a little less confident going into this game.
And if Tampa Bay faces some initial adversity in the Giants game (pick 6, blown coverage by their D, etc.) a collective feeling of “here we go again” may start to creep into the minds of the Bucs’ players.
I’m not saying that the Giants are going to win this game. I just don’t understand why some people automatically believe that the Bucs can’t be beat this week because they’ll be playing “angry”.
Anger may help motivate the Bucs, but losing 2 in a row has to have had some impact on their confidence.
The Giants had a very good chance to beat them last year and I thought last year's NYG team was worse.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this game plays out.
Other than that its just people making stuff up.
expect the best from TB
Bills were upset by Jags and then whacked the Jets.
So, yes, there is something to a good team being upset and coming back the next week and play well.
They will not be overlooking the upcoming opponent. It happens all the time in the NFL.
We've been our own worst enemy this year.
Last time I remember was vs. Cincy and Odell doing the thriller after scoring.
They'll be ready to play, but that doesn't guarantee them a win.
2) Poor record on Monday Night games
3) Poor record in games coming off bye week
4) Poor record in alternate uniforms
Given the above, the “Football gods” say “Screw historical trends’l, Giants 24, Bucs 23. Gano with last minute 55 yarder for the win!
If you've ever played or been around a team, there's definitely different feels in practice weeks depending on a lot of factors. Those can manifest themselves come game day.
0-7 in primetime games since Eli retired.
Which begs the question? If Siemian and Heineke, both back-up QBs, can have success against the Bucs D - and each of their offenses have issues - shouldn't we expect Jones to have a big performance?

only if you believe that the bucs are going to simply going continue to play bad defense. Do you choose to believe the last two games are the real bucs?
In the 3 games before that they were 3-0, and only allowed a total of 42 points.

Right - will the real Bucs defense please stand up?
Until I see them revert to their defense 3 weeks ago, I'm giving more credibility to what we have seen from the Bucs these last two weeks...

A lot depends how the Giants can run the ball. The Saints scored 36 points (7 coming from the final drive where Brady threw a pick six), but they only had 209 pass yards. Saints ran the ball, played tough defense, and controlled the clock.
WFT did the same thing. Both teams have great playcallers and very good lines, though. It's not an easy task, although Vea being injured is a blessing.
Conclusion? Force Brady into making mistakes. He has five turnovers over the last two games. Giants defense causes a turnover or two, they definitely have a shot. More downfield shots to Toney, Golladay, Barkley, etc. will be nice. Big challenge for Garrett to make a statement.
