NBC Sports Edge has this blurb taken from Dan Dugan's article in the Athletic on how Dainiel Jones and Jason Garrett's failures are sealing Gettleman's fate.
He points out Jones's poor stats, then adds "...there could be "intrigue" this offseason in the potential replacement of offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, whose stale offense has barely improved from last year's disastrous performance.
So, if you're Dave Gettleman, how do you sit idly by while Garrett burns down the offense. I understand about the injuries, but if I'm Dave I'm finding whatever means I can to put some pressure on the coaching staff (specifically Garrett) to open things up.

Yep, and even 4 years before DG!
Giants just have something against building an offensive line, and building a winner.
lol
Do you think Judge doesn't sign off on each game plan? Do you think Judge can't override Garrett on a play call during a game? This offense doesn't prepare and run independent of Judge. He absolutely has his fingerprints and stamps of approval on the style and strategy. To think otherwise, is naive.
I have no idea why you think Gettleman has the power to dictate how the offense plays. That's not his real estate. Mara could dictate those terms, but not our incompetent GM.
LOL'd!
You can argue this chicken and egg thing of whether Garrett is conservative because he doesn't trust Jones, or Jones can't succeed because Garrett won't trust him, but the one point that is very difficult to argue is that the most significant problem with the Giants is a lack of talent. That falls primarily on Dave Gettleman.

Simply out of desperation to save his job. He is the GM. Isn't that higher up the food chain than the coaching staff? I'd have to think that anyone in a high level in any corporation didn't just get there by being a nice guy. It just makes me wonder is all.
If he knows then is he that thick that he can't understand why the offense is stale?
And when they all come back heathy then week number 1 they are all back does he expect a great offense?

We could have had an oline of Whitworth, Ramzyk, Martin, Nelson and Wirf!
Carnac was a "mystic from the NFC East" who could psychically "divine" unknown answers to unseen questions. You can find him on You Tube.
Longtime sidekick Eric from BBI ritualistically and bombastically introduced the Carnac routines. The announcement implied Carnac was responsible for some scandal or disaster currently in the news, as "And now, the great seer, soothsayer, and sage, Carnac the Magnificent." After Carnac entered and stumbled, Eric would continue as follows:
"I hold in my hand the envelope. As a child of four can plainly see, this envelope has been hermetically sealed. It's been kept in a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnalls' porch since noon today. NO ONE [at this shout, Carnac always acts startled] knows the contents of this envelope – but you, in your mystical and borderline divine way, will ascertain the answer having never before heard the question."
If a joke (often a very bad pun) generated a negative response, Carnac would give a disapproving look, then cast a comedic "NFC Eastern curse":
"May Jerry Jones plastic surgeon perform your son's bris".
Carnac held each envelope to his forehead while "divining" the answer, then tore open the end of the envelope and loudly blew into it before removing the index card with the question. Pretending to psychically concentrate, Carnac periodically asked for "complete silence" from the audience, and Eric from BBI would retort that he often got it.
Eric's announcement "I hold in my hand the envelope" was always met with a loud cheer, prompting one final "curse"
"May Marc Ross draft your wife and children".

Answer: Gettleman, Jones and Garrett

No they don't. This year is 100% attributed to injury. This OL would not be nearly as bad if Thomas and Gates or even just Thomas were playing every week.
How was the Dallas OL last year? Remind me please.

This is why the giants need to draft an OLINE again in 2022 and not just defense with 1st few picks.
It's going to be bad again if you don't.
Jones does not have the street creds to change too many plays, the amount of downfield passes the Giants are attempting is horrific
KC for one just loaded the box and dared us to pass
We didnt
I really would like to see Garrett gone, and not next year
NOW
We need to run a more balanced offense
and as Parcells used to say "you have to stretch the field on occassion to keep the safteys and LBers honest"
He was only hired as a former HC for Judge to lean on
Time to discard the crutch
its holding us back

Until they fix the oline, how do you know what Garrett can really do? Yes I agree it has been stagnant, but when the line only gives the QB 2 secs to throw, what can he do? They just started running better so that may help play action.
Golladay is being paid a lot of money and Toney hasn't had trouble looking like a play maker when healthy. Slayton, Ross and Engram aren't world-beaters but they can get open downfield on occasion.
The Oline isn't going to always hold up and Jones will have to take some hits or quite frankly, just figure it out. He was drafted for his smarts and mobility too. Would also assume that a few over the top success down the field will actually cause the Defense to back up a bit and possibly relieve some pressure on the OL.
Play to win.
No one can sit here and make these pronouncements
Thomas entered the year a huge question mark
We have no idea how the 2 injured guys would have progressed
Also Thomas has been injured for some time
Who knows his ability when he returns- may be a nagging injury
Its easy to blame Gettleman but he cannot be blamed for all these injuries and shuffling
I've watched other teams struggle too. We are what we are
and lately we are morphing into a decent team.
Lets go Giants!!

Even if the projected starting OL was 100% healthy this season; we have one good/solid player on the OL, and that's Thomas. By the way, this is DG's 4th year as the GM. Where is all of the talent on the OL?

This is the same OL as last year (minus Solder) and they were bad last year, too. Actually, the run-blocking has it's moments and isn't the worst. But the pass-blocking is quite bad. That's not even an opinion, but a fact. Before the injuries this year, they also weren't any good. So, yes, these 'pronouncements' can be made quite easily.
And decent team? Well, hopefully you are correct, but we are 3-6 at the moment. FAR from even a 'decent' team. Go out in the second half and win more games than you lose, then yeah, maybe we are a decent team and maybe we have something here. But they have to do it first.

He can't be blamed for the injury but he can be blamed for not having a good OL. They were regarded as near last - last year -- and nothing was done.

And let's not forget that when asked why he didn't look to upgrade the OL, he made a snide remark about it, as per usual.
The win is against the Raiders, a team without a head coach that's probably going to go into a tailspin.

But they're only a couple plays away from being 5-4!!!1!!!11
3-6 is ok
We just need to win out and that will turn this board around
I dont see any games of the final 8 we cannot win
BUT we have to have a balanced attack....no more weird playcalling

Yes, like the moron he is. DG certainly can be blamed for the state of the OL being bad once again:
* No investment in early free agency
* No investment at all in draft
* Brought back Solder for another year versus finding a more serviceable option
* Basically the entire non-starting depth chart he brought to camp retired or was cut after final preseason game
* Went into desperation mode right before season began trading for other team's OL scraps
If any of the above would have been planned out better by Front Office, maybe the OL could have withstood some injuries.
And yet he displays arrogance in this well thought-out approach...
I'm all for running the ball down their throats with Booker
but hey toss a bomb on 1st down once in a while
Be less predictable
I dont like Garrett, never did. Let him go back to Jerryland
That kid calling plays in Dallas is sharp, lets find someone like him, or hire him. Mara needs to open up the checkbook.
He's no longer paying Ben McAdoo. Let get some better coaches or at least replace Garrett
We are in a very competitive division- Eagles and WFT are playing much better lately. Gotta love Rivera- he always goes for it in the red zone on 4th down LOL. love it. Dallas unfortunately seems real
The NFC East is becoming much better...we need to put the pedal to the metal.
Go Giants!!!!

Exactly. Much like in 2018 when he signed Solder and Omameh and drafted Hernandez in the 2nd round, he thought the offensive line was "fixed" and therefore didn't do anything to shore it up heading into this season.
They were an average (at best) line heading into this season, and DG decided that was good enough. What a fool he is.
I'm telling you this guy is a Dallas "Plant" sent here to destroy us.
Yes Dallas had/has a good line but to publicly trash your own teams Oline is unheard of. Good Grief!!!
Its ok for us to rag about the line but this guy is a clown
Jason please remember which team signs your checks
We know of your man love for the Cowboys. Take the next plane out of town and go get yourself some Cowboys season tickets
