NGT: We lost a legendary HS Football Coach in NJ this week..

JCin332 : 11/17/2021 7:05 pm
Coach Drew Gibbs who coached Ramapo HS in Franklin Lakes to multiple championships passed away suddenly on Tue morning.

A great man who was a great coach, role model, mentor, father, husband, and friend.

Somehow always made it about the team and not the individual and treated everyone on the team with the same respect.

And always a big supporter and role model to other coaches both within and outside of his sport.

RIP Coach Gibbs...

Thanks for the post - great to be reminded of communities affected by leaders and passionate individuals like this - life is fleeting

The community is heart broken. Wake and funeral service today. I had a work conference this week. My brother texted me when it the story broke on Tuesday. So awful for his family and the kids of that school. He was so much more than a coach. Glad they moved to game until next Friday but this is an awful thing that will unfortunately stay with these kids for a long time.

This impacted us in a different way, but it still has an impact across the region regardless. Tragic and sad, but I’m sure Coach Gibbs would be proud of his players. They went out there, wore their hearts on their sleeves and played their hearts out. They should hold their heads up high.
