Piggy backing on the Berman thread.
Long story relatively short. My daughter was involved with Special Olympics and back in early 2007 the Giants held an event for the athletes on the field of the old stadium with may 6/8 players. Tynes was one of them (along with Lorenzen, RIP. Man that dude had a cannon for an arm). Tynes spent time with every single kid there and was a complete class act.
Anyway, I ran across a picture of he and my daughter from that day and sent it to him on IG. He didn't just say "thanks", he and I wrote back and forth several times. He asked how my daughter was doing, asked for an update, said how those events were his favorite of field memories, etc.
Great kicker, better guy
Well said
He's as big a Giant fan as any of us who visit here. I'm not surprised to hear he's one of the good guys. He sounds like it when you listen to him. It's great to read stories like this. Thank you.
Check out his podcast. I think you'll like it.

Is Feagles in the ring of honor? If not that needs to be rectified ASAP.
There are Giants in the ROH who didn't win Super Bowls and they deserve the honor. But the guys who played big parts in those 4 Lombardi's and have been overlooked should be honored IMO. Leonard Marshall.
If Pete Gogolak and Dave Jennings are in the 2 of them should be too.
I casually knew Tynes when he played for the Giants. He lived nearby. I asked him about kicking in that deep freeze. His reply was his foot had a huge bruise and hurt like hell and not sure if he would be able to kick if there was a game the following Sunday. Thankfully the Super Bowl was two weeks later.
The Giants also sent flowers to his viewing and a football signed by the entire team for his kids.
Say what you will about the team's performance, the Giants are a class organization and me and my family will never forget how they treated us during a horrendous time
