...Chiefs with Larry Johnson came to the Meadowlands to show Giant fans what a real running back looks like. Tiki owned the day with one of his best career games.
That was my second time attending a Giants game.
My brother (KC fan) and I were supposed to attend the away game a few weekend ago but couldn't because of Corona travel restriktions.
Like the crowd, remember that one well. Was watching at a bar in midtown with a bunch of fellow Giants fans, had a blast. Peak Tiki, when he was at his best he was amazing

What a huge difference between now and then. That's when the NFL was something different. Better flow, better everything. Seems like the better team won that day and not a back and forth contest where Whoever has the ball last wins.
My interest compared to then when it was game day was the polar opposite compared to now.

I was gonna go but for some weird fucking reason I had a class on Saturdays in fall of 2005. Awful. Final exam that day. Annoying. What a deal.

Oh well. Never mind about me. I'll be fine.
This was before Peyton whined to the league about DBs playing defense too well.
Ever since it's been nonstop penalties and QBs chucking the ball with no intention of actually completing a play, just hoping to get a PI call.
looks like huh? Some bad tackling by the Chiefs in this game.
I mean very bad! Tiki was great as well, he could turn losses
into gains, even if it was only for a few yards.
that shit-grin half closed eye look, I thought he was always tired or something but no, it was like he had such a sense of entitlement that he couldn't be bothered to open his eyes to engage others or us the peon audience. I'm the greatest back for the flagship franchise of the greatest sports/entertainment franchise in the world, how dare you come into my presence!
But Tiki deserved his entitlement, just look at his absurd career numbers.
Also- its nice to see (nostalgia can be tricky sometimes) that tackling was bad 16 years ago. Some of these KC whiffs are rough. Something thats probably more commonplace now because of the lack of practice/training camp/hitting but man KC got gashed this game
Seemed tough for Phil to say anything complimentary

I thought this game was an anomaly back then or maybe it was the beginning of the horrid tackling that we see today? I remember them making note of how poor Kansas City did that day on defense trying to tackle. Maybe they (media) expected more from a better team.
Yeah. 2005 wasn't football at its all-time best but it was certainly a better played game to me compared to today. If me today time traveled to back then and told 2005 me what football was like in 2021, I'm not sure I'd understand what the hell I was saying.
I wonder what 2005 me would say when I told him Brady is still going and leads the league in touchdown throws. LOL.
tackling was way worse back in the days of Barry Sanders and before, defenders have improved on their form and just are physically better.
But I'm confused watching that video, is it real? I mean Tiki, Toomer, Eli, Shockey, and Plax running around everywhere. Is that what all the crazy kids are talking about nowadays, what do they call it, talint? Telant? Tallent? Crazy!
that was one of my favorite games and favorite seasons.
What I wouldn't give to go back to the days where we had a tough lead-blocking fullback and lived and died with the I-formation. That's definitely my favorite brand of football.
...many of his runs did not follow the play, his cutback style was incredibly effective, his ability to find holes on runs where there was no running lane was uncanny and once he was in space, he was a waterbug, very difficult to line up and tackle.
The Giant O-line at that time was still in flux and inconsistent.
Thinking he could be a huge success on camera...bad choice.
Maybe he thought he was Barry Sanders and would get into the HOF on a shortened career. Nope..
Now, he sits here with neither a TV career and a "what if" NFL career with only some highlights on youtube at this point
Saturday game in December 2005. Think it was the 20th. Had class that day. My first year of college directly after high school.
My brother (KC fan) and I were supposed to attend the away game a few weekend ago but couldn't because of Corona travel restriktions.

Except it was from one game!
I miss those NY Giant players on offense...
Still waiting on Barkley's first....

I remember watching them/Tiki just run wild. And also what a good downfield blocker Plax was.

Tough defenses to watch.
