celebrations

I have absolutely no problem with celebrating after a good/great play. Hell these guys have given everything to get where they are.

That being said, (yeah, I know) the running 50, 60 yards down the field to the opponents endzone with the entire D to take "pictures", etc after a pick seems a little ridiculous.

I know, get off my lawn, etc but it seems silly. Just a thought.
No, you are right.

It really is silly and the joy of the play has long passed.

“Ok boomer!” “You must be really fun at parties!”

Etc, etc, etc

Kidding! I totally agree with you. Id rather they threw a taunting penalty on that than what theyve been calling it on. Im in the camp that things you should be able to do just about anything you want within a few seconds of the whistle blowing, but like it was mentioned above, the moment has already passed by the time they run 65 yards downfield to pose.

was one of the very few non-Giants I would root for, because he would invariably just flip the ball to the ref and head for the sidelines after a TD.
The NFL

" we are allowing celebrations after scores and turnovers, we want to bring back fun to the league"

Also the NFL

"Don't taunt your opponent in even the slightest way or get fired up because it can cost your team a victory"

At this point I almost don't care either way, but the rules are so damn hypocritical that it makes the whole thing ridiculous.
I'm still stunned...

...they allow the players to Lambeau Leap into the stands. Seems too risky given how lawsuit crazy people are and risk averse the league normally is to let players come in direct contact and quite literally sit on spectators even only for a few seconds
I don’t care

ITs one of the Few opportunities defensive players get to hold the ball. Can’t blame them for extending it as long as possible

I don't like the over the top pre-rehearsed Broadway show looking TD celebrations either. Just high five or hug the nearest player, flip the ball to the ref and move on to kicking the extra point

I actually like the spur of the moment celebrations. Running to the EZ from midfield is just non-spontaneous...more like taunting then the celebrations at the play site.

Whatever - still the No Fun League
Problem: Celebrations are nice, but some are lousy. Answer:

Make it a competition.

Awards for the best group and individual celebrations. Have categories: TDs, First Downs, Sacks, Tackles for loss, & Ints.

How about
BigBlueinDE : 11/21/2021 1:33 pm : link
acting like you've been there before? If it's a touchdown, hand the ball to the referee. If you made a great play, line up and get ready for the next play.

Am glad the NFL is cracking down on this childish BS.
