NFT: Youtube TV

Anyone use Youtube TV? I have it and like it but lately I have been experiencing a stuttering glitch while watching sports. It is not happening when I watch regular tv shows. I have a firestick and it is hardwired with an ethernet cable. I have uninstalled and restallen it on my firestick. I was wondering if anyone had this issue and what did they do. Thanks
I have it but only use it

For the giants in Sunday with a VPN through a fire stick.

With no problem. I would try using WiFi to see if that made a difference.
Firestck hesitates on Prime shows

I use YouTube TV on different devices (Firestick, Roku and the new Google TV device). YouTube TV works fine on all of them; however, I do experience what you are experiencing on the firestick when watching Prime (Amazon) shows. No idea why and it isn't often. It's an older stick, not sure if that makes a difference.
i have it and havent had any issues

Try checking video settings on the TV for "smoothing" or whatever they call it and try turning it on or off and see if that makes a difference. If you can find a tennis match that where it is most noticeable. If you aren't on a tight budget you might consider a new fire stick upgrade, they are on sale for Black Friday.
I have YTT through an Apple TV device,

I have occasional buffering issues, but not confined to sports. I think it may be more related to my bandwidth (300 MbPS).
Question ....
short lease : 11/21/2021 8:26 pm : link
not sure if anybody knows or will answer? I have a smart TV (Samsung) and it seems like it came with built in app(?) for Youtube. When I watch Youtube on my "Smart TV" - there are a million commercials. It is ridiculous - sometimes a 10 minute video will have 3 commercial breaks but, after 5 seconds there is an option to "Skip Ads" - the breaks are still very annoying. They come mid-sentence (most of the time). They are not well edited commercial breaks.

BUUUUT, when I watch the same videos (as an experiment) on my computer - there are NO commercials?

What's up with that?

p.s I do not have "Youtube TV" - if that makes a difference.

YouTube TV is completely different from regular YouTube. It’s a subscription streaming service for TV and cable channels. You can watch NBC, ESPN, CNN, etc, etc.

As for your issue, I’m not sure as I only watch YouTube on computer/tablet. But if your TV doesn’t have a quality system like Roku or Google TV built in, I would get a streaming stick. Regular “smart TV” software sucks.

Same on Apple TV. I presume because it's easier to switch to another site on your browser than it is to switch to another app on your TV. More captive audience. What they really want is for you to go premium.
My YouTubeTV app started freezing...

Only on Roku this weekend. I know they have not been able to agree to future terms and are winding down support for this setup. Love my Roku but YouTubeTV is gonna win this win as it is way easier to replace the Roku than to find a suitable replacement for YouTubeTV.

My Roku announced that it had upgraded itself to 10.5 this weekend, likely the cause of issues if you run into them.

I think you are right Blue - I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung and YouTube TV has an agreement.

BUt, I thought if I paid for YouTube TV - that would include a ton more stuff including original content from Youtube TV? I just wanted to watch regular Youtube on my TV - maybe it is not possible because of the way it is accessed through Samsung?

Thanks.
Youtube TV during this game has been awful
DC Gmen Fan : 11/22/2021 9:30 pm : link
with the choppy frame rate. Works ok on my phone and computer but the Samsung TV is awful. Every play is like frame by frame. It's like playing Microsoft Flight Simulator version 1.

Again YouTube TV is a completely different animal. It’s a cable TV replacement. You get network channels (ABC, CBS etc) and cable channels (ESPN, CNN, Food Network, etc). The channels stream over your internet connection. It has nothing to do with regular YouTube.
Ads are delivered by device
UConn4523 : 11/22/2021 9:35 pm : link
and digital advertisers are able to target you based on you watching on your smart TV for sure (I was able to back in 2015 when I last worked in the digital
space so it’s definitely more sophisticated now).
