I asked. He said Mika was yelling at the ref because he didn't get the call when he got tripped, and Gallant was telling him to drop it. #NYR

That’s what I thought it was. He doesn’t enter the zone for a while after he gets tripped up.

He has looked completely different since coming back from his injury. Now the team needs to work on Lafreniere. Did you notice him last night? In the third period I was wondering if he was injured or something because I never heard his name.

Laf had a nice pass to Chytil and Chytil had an open net to bury it, but alas
was baffling to me when it happened. I think it was a knee-jerk reaction to the "have to get tougher" mandate. Sure, they needed some snarl on the back end, but the guy has to be able to defend a little bit.
If Hajek can't beat out Tinordi that says a lot about what the team thinks of Hajek. Why carry him and whatever minimal cap hit on the roster. I don't really get the narrative that they are afraid of losing him on waivers. Would they miss his presence in the stands?
I would much rather see Lundkvist get playing time and game experience. Tinordi is definitely not our future on the blueline.
Rick, in the Post Game Gallant said 'Coach's decision'. He also said that in the immediately preceding or succeeding question from beats, but didn't catch who that referred to.

Gman, ask Kravtsov, I'll bet his agent knows...)>:

I agree. You already have Reaves and Goodrow in the toughness department, and two of those types is probably enough to protect the rest of the team
stepped up. He had some tough misses on net last night but he seems to be improving each week. Getting excited
He's been very active, a positive thus far, but as I've said all during last year, he has issues finishing, just something off--decision making, hands? But he is making more of a case for himself as C; I argued last year team should shift him to wing because of his burst, but that view looking shaky.
His skating is noticeably better and he just looks bigger and stronger. When he decides to go to the net he’s hard to stop
I am trying to think of a (hopeful) player comparison and came up with Steve Larmer? Both lefty shots but Kakko was bigger. Larmer was such a good too way player.

A good comp I think
This may be giving a bit too much praise but I see some John Leclair in him. He’s got the hands, he’s got the size and he’s showing more willingness to drive to the net…plus the defensive skills
Probably never a prolific goal scorer like LeClair…but a guy can dream
What a finish last night, truly classic moment at the Garden (even if it is against Buffalo). I wanted to comment on Chytil as some others have, I have been so confident this kid is going to be something special and last night was probably the best game he ever played. He has the speed and skill to be effective, he’s starting to use his size now too. I don’t know who I’m more impressed with, him or KK. How about both!?!
And yes, Tinordi is an absolute disaster. We’re talking Jack Johnson bad, or worse. Georgiev, I don’t know what the hell happened to this guy. 2 years ago I thought he could be a legitimate #1 goalie in this league, but between last year and his start to this year, I just hope he doesn’t cost us too many points in what could be a really good season.

LeClair was one of those guys that had a good start to his career in Montreal then went ape shit in Philly. Never had more than 54 pts for the Habs, then at age 25 he goes to Philly and turns into a legendary talent, for about 5 or 6 straight seasons. He didn't really get cooking until he was 26.

LeClair was awesome, one of my favorite players, but he didn't really "get cooking" until he was playing on a wing next to Eric Lindros.
Linemates sometimes matter more than people realize and it doesn't mean I don't think LeClair was a great player in his own right, he was, but didn't really make the leap to elite until paired with Lindros.

Nemeth doesn't back down from a tussle. In fact, neither does Trouba. Hunt plays a hard-nosed game. Blais before his injury hit everything in sight. So, what's Tinordi's function? I really don't know.
Great win
Tinordi needs to be placed on waivers and Georgiev needs to be traded. Enough is enough. Tinordi makes me miss Libor fucking Hajek.
That's what I'm curious about. Looks like Gallant was pissed at Zibanejad for something. Maybe not taking the shot? IDK.

I think because he passed up the shot

Which I get, but lighten up, Turk. We won the fucking game.

So nice to finally have a good team follow between the Rangers and Giants in the last while.

Definitely. Maybe Marc-Andre Fleury? Blackhawks suck and Gallant had MAF in Vegas.
Or maybe one of the Stars goalies? They have a young stud in Oettinger and two vets in Holtby and Khudobin.

They are both 20. KK is about 8 months older than Laf.
