Until the lines are fixed..

rnargi : 11/22/2021 11:08 pm
..you can blame anything you want. You can complain about Jones, Garrett, Judge, Mara, or the fucking Easter Bunny.

It won't matter.

There are 7 glaring problems on the field tonight. 4 on the oline and three on the dline. Nothing else does, or will matter, until both are fixed. Period.

My point exactly. With 4 olinemen who are not NFL caliber, and an RB and TEs who can't chip or block inline, how is he supposed to be effectual?

margi agree but the linebackers also suck
Jones missed plenty of throws tonight still..

Oline has become an excuse. Plays are still being missed.

arniefez : 11/22/2021 11:17 pm : link
and both lines do need to fixed before the Giants are a contending team. But no NFL team is winning with Daniel Jones as their QB. He was horrid tonight and I'm not talking about the picks.

I wish/hope someone of importance reads what you wrote above that has control of who we draft in 2022..For I never yelled so much at my freaking TV,that my left side of my chest hurts..I have a heart problem,so what I feel right now is not good..The lack of tackling on defence, and the lack of blocking on offense, especially some of the wr's starting with Golladay..

Of course I do. Did Jones tell Hernandez to hold three times? Did you watch the interior line ay at all? Three stunts completely missed? Thomas getting beat by speed? They were rushing 4 against 5 or 6 almost all game...and they had pressure almost every play. Did yiubsee the missed blocks in the screen game? Did you see Thomas whiff on the LB on the Jones draw in the first quarter?

By not missing wide open WR when the play has a chance to succeed. By not making bone headed throws, leading to short fields for the defense to defend.

He’s not the only issue. Can he play better under better circumstances? Sure. Can any QB in the league win with this roster? Debatable

But how you can watch him play over the last 3 years and think, that’s my guy. You must like getting your balls smacked. I don’t get it
Sad thing is the OL will be bad next year as well
BillT : 11/22/2021 11:26 pm : link
Thomas is all we’ve got. Maybe Gates comes back and even less likely Lemieux turns out ok. Still leaves us two short and that’s a best case scenario. Ugh.

I'm not saying he's the guy...I'm saying how the fuck could anyone know? He doesn't stand a chance.
Again...the only QBs we have seen play in this scheme

Other than Jones have been Glennon and McCoy. Both also put up shit statistics. Not sure the draft is the answer this year. So what?
It's the OL and the QB

You’ve never seen a QB in this league do more with less? Cause that’s the league. You either have a top tier guy and can compete in the playoffs most years, or you can’t. This roster is no where close to making an 07’ / 11’ run. By the time you do, if you do, DJ is on his 3rd contract making money he doesn’t deserve.

Your choice. Although, it sounds like you’ve chosen
Agreed!

We have no chance with a line that cannot protect.
How can anyone succeed with that line.
Nearly impossible!

If anyone wants to teach an oline the definition of pass pro and what a pocket should look like, there were at least 30 examplea to show on the Tampa offense tonight. Our dline was horrid. Pathetic. The LBs were no better.
Maybe we can draft and sign some more DTs.
Dave in Hoboken : 11/23/2021 12:01 am : link
Because, you know, who needs some DE's that actually get pressure on the QB.

Daniel in MI : 11/23/2021 12:04 am : link
Winning the LOS is the cost of entry for success in the NFL. We are not even competent on either side. You’ll never win consistently like this with Jones, or a new QB whoever it is.

We have no run game. Can’t play action effectively without a run game. Can’t pass block to save our lives. Hernandez was horrific, and he’s a starter. We want him out there apparently.

And who cares what DBs you have if you’re asking them to cover NFL WRs for 4-6 seconds? QBs can get to their 3rd read and start over. If teams can run in you for 5-8 a pop.

Jones was hot garbage tonight, who out there wasn’t? But with or without him, this team lacked the basic foundation: winning the LoS.

You can also not invest money in Jones. Also God forbid a second contract to Barkley. They threw away the last four years. That is ignoring the years leading up to it.

is the main issue. Offense was supposed to be built around Barkley not Jones.

i wouldn't give either of them a 2nd contract. but i'd also invest my draft picks and money now in building a football team - starting from the inside out. if a QB falls into our laps, fine. otherwise we get one after we have a team to put him on. i'm sick of us getting pushed around for 60 minutes a game.

and this is coming from someone that knows that you need a top QB if you're going to contend on a yearly basis.

of losing the physical battle. Plenty of other issues with the coaching and QB play but football is still about winning that physical battle. Can't compete without it.
