My daughter is 14 and sat on the couch with me last night excited to see Barkley return. She rooted so hard for Jones. And you could feel the excitement drain out of her as drive after drive ensued and we performed as the Giants do.
She wants to be a football fan. She loves the Giants. But at 14 she has endured basically garbage football since before she was in kindergarten. Its hard for her to sit and watch a team that sucks every weekend and I don't have an answer for her.
I think of so many kids around her age who have come into watching football only to know the Giants as a loser franchise. Many of us had such joy as kids rooting for the Giants. It has me worried for the fan base in general.
It's a shame.
But, having endured those awful years, the upturn for the Giants in the mid 1980s was cathartic and immensely enjoyable. I learned never to take success for granted. Soak it all in and live it up.
I wonder if management knows that they are literally losing their future value stream by this perpetual incompetence.

And that means that almost any improvement (the bar is low) is going to be met with excitement and optimism. It's like buying the dip after a stock has tanked :)
I go to every Giants home game and have brought her a bunch of times. Doesn't matter. We suck shaved donkey balls for a decade, with no hope of competency in sight.
Probably will be walking away from my PSL next year unless we get R. Wilson. I really had high hopes for this year.

Brutal. I'm sorry, this is a terrible thing to have happen.
