Look, whatever you think of this staff they aren’t keeping Peart on the bench if he is better or even equal to Solder. I get we hope he will develop. However, he’s just started a number if games and they still are starting Solder. What does that tell you.

Because they didn’t trust Solder there, it tells me they don’t know their ass from a hike in e ground. Their decisions don’t have a pattern. They are non-sensical and counter productive. Solder is what he is - an abomination. Peart is a young guy that COULD get better. You start the guy who has upside. Same deal with Brederson and Hernandez. They started Brederson when Lemieux got hurt. He struggled, especially since he WASN’T a LG. He’s played RG. So now you keep him on the bench when WH is horrid?
AND they run behind Hernandez and Solder rather than behind Thomas?

What is it with Price? Is he just a dummy? He managed to not hit anyone on a 3 man rush that resulted in a sack.

I agree. They looked at Price's draft selection and factored in that he was playing OG, not OC and just assumed he would play up to draft slot.

Really, it was a microcosm of the OL troubles. They knew Lemieux was hurt all summer. They knew they had no real depth. They just assumed Lemieux would be ready to go and did nothing until the very last minute. You can't just roll the dice on every single player you sign off the scrap heap. 4 years of fixing the OL yielded the same results and pretty much the same level of talent as before. As far as I am concerned, OL alone is the reason to fire Gettleman and do it now.

Is up there with the worse offensive linemen that have started on this team, and that’s saying a lot. The guy is an awful awful football player. Why the fuck did Gettleman trade for him.

Rolling the dice on starters coming back from injury or counting on players with few or no starts to become regular starters has been the story of the Giants offensive line for 10+ years.

For all of his blind spots in drafting, Accorsi was pretty good at putting offensive lines together. Reese and Gettleman had ineffective/nonexistent pipelines to replace those players and our team went down the tubes when those linemen got old.

To be fair, as much of a mess as the O line has been, that wasn't their plan. Lemieux and Gates were to be the starters. And their two planned backups decided to retire.
