is not someone you will win big with. I believe the franchise has also failed him miserably. When you draft a QB you try hard to put together a strong running game. This opens up the offense when you are consistently winning the down and distance. This would have helped him but at this point I am not sure how one see he has a lot more upside to tap.
If you want good examples of how to support a rookie QB look at what Dak and Wentz were given to start their careers. Going further back look at what Eli had.
Ownership hell.
Front office hell.
Draft incompetence hell.
Cap hell.
Free agency hell.
When DG goes, if anyone from inside the organization is hired to replace him, it's insanity.
If Ernie Accorsi is hired to conduct a search for Davey's replacement, it's insanity.
But not QB he’ll as it’s normally defined. Jones’ play isn’t preventing the Giants from drafting low enough to not get his replacement. (See: Herbert, Justin) if Jones were playing just well enough to say get us to .500 then we’d be in QB he’ll.
they can cut or trade Jones with minimal cap implications and have picks to draft a guy or trade for a QB. Their hell is not knowing what to do but there's plenty of options.
There is ZERO reason for him to be on this roster in 2022.
I can't believe I'm reading people saying we should "give" him 2022. It makes me feel like I'm going crazy and seeing an alternate reality.
Unfortunately given the cap and the way the draft is shaping up Jones is a Giant in 2022.
That doesn't mean we don't bring in a low cost veteran or draft pick to compete with him.
In fact, I'm pretty close to thinking if he falters this Sunday, bench him in the 2nd half and put Glennon in so we can evaluate the other players on offense.
Quarterback hell is having a guy that wins you enough games to push you out of the top half of the draft where a potential replacement is more likely to be, but limits your team to fringe playoffs status.
Jones is a bottom quarter starter on a bottom quarter team. It'd be really easy and not surprising if they decided to move on after this year. No dilemma there.
If they want to part ways with Jones, this is the time to do it.
QB hell would be if he is re-signed to a huge second contract.
Or signing some other B rate vet QB to a 20+ mil a year deal. I think all we have gotten ourselves into is another lost season where we cant answer the question.
We have the resources in this draft to get any QB who declares. Again Hell would be we are picking in the late teens and have no shot at the top guys.
My big question for the offseason is if Jones has any trade value. If Darnold and Bridgewater did maybe its time to look in that direction
watching daniel jones play QB is hell, so in that sense yes.
to extend Jones. Let him play out next year, but under no circumstances should they exercise his option. If he somehow blossoms next year, they can tag him for not that much more than the option amount.
Drafting a QB this year would be QB unless he is amazing
The correct thing to do is continue with Jones next year even if he sucks and fix the OLine and pass rush best you can with the draft. Then get your QB.
QB HELL would be if they keep trying to solve their issues with drafting a QB and not fixing the OLine. Then you are the browns going through QB after QB and still sucking every year.
The mistake was drafting Jones into a situation that the QB can not fix but only at best hide your deficiency. Make that mistake more than once welcome to QB hell.
Giving a huge contract to a terrible QB could also do it but again it's usually because your team around him still sucks and now you have Cap issue on top of it. You have a bad QB and a good team then you just have a shit QB not QB hell. This is not the case for us.
Trevor Lawrence was the next great hype or you can even use the great Herbert, but we would still suck just not as bad. But only sucking less should not be the goal.
is likely the only way he is not on the team next year, as his salary is guaranteed (~4mil). It's doable to just dump him, we'd actually save 200K in cap space, but for that price it'd be worth it to keep him as a backup.
Draft a QB, let him learn for a year ... or a couple weeks, when the boo birds chase DJ off the field. or
Bring in a vet and let the better man take the helm.
The QB hell we're in is the hell of finding a quality QB. Doubtful any vet is going to fit the description, and this is said to be a bad year for wanting to draft one.
Terrible owner, terrible stadium, terrible coaches, shitty players.
Eagles are licking their chops waiting for Sunday.

Agreed! They are far from QB hell.
No.
They just don't have a quarterback.

Oh yeah moron Mara already that big check written out and he has one for Barkley too. That is already baked in.
He is such an asshole

People who focus too much on the QB are going to end up with more losing seasons.
We need to fix the top first, then with the right people they will find our franchise QB.
Nobody can trust ANYONE in the organization to make solid decisions at this point.
NotIraInSI is in the Hell of the Seven Devils because he's a complete Non-Compo.

Amen. Jones has an easily dumpable contract. A number of backups are paid less. QB Hell involves a contract you can't get out of.
