Albert Breer predicted Wilson would be a Giant next year in his half time periscope Q& A last night. Colin Cowherd & Nick Wright just both said either the Giants or Dolphins make the most sense for Wilson.
I wouldn’t do this. Wilson is on the other side of 30 and is making a ton of money. But, the talk is starting. I think it’ll be a fascinating QB market with Watson, Wilson & Rodgers.
one would think wilson would want to go to a team that is better constructed, with a proven coach, that is built to win now. kind of like brady did.
I am not as down as JonC in balance of 22....but the Giants need everyone of the premium draft picks....to secure edge and OL once and for all.
This is little more than click bait. If a new GM made a move like this, I'd fire him on the spot.
Why do you think this team needs a true rebuild? What they need is a QB ; some oline players ; and another pass rusher.
That should be doable with their draft picks even if it means trading down to get some decent o line players
Ben is cooked. They need a QB instantly.
He made a bad Giants team a .500 team, but that was about all. And we surrendered lots of Draft picks for him, including Ron Yary.
You got that right
Tarkenton came in and instantly the Giants were a contender with only Bob Tucker to throw to
Wilson is very very much like Tarkenton, a great scrambler, accurate and smart.....As to Wilson- Pay the man
Put Danny Boy back on the bench to learn and recover his confidence
There will be no Garrett
Of this I am 99.99999999 percent sure
as to the Cap, cut whoever needs to be cut
Cutting solder would free $14 million with $4 mill dead.
If this ends up being an actual possibility, I don’t think the cap will get in the way.

I heard this from a Pitt fan friend of mine today too. They have like 40mm in cap space next yr after Ben clears the books in 2021.
33 is the new 23 when it comes to QB these days. Remember defenders are not allowed to even look in their direction anymore.
No, he's signed through 2023, owed $41M over the next 2.

We do have playmakers. Improve the middle of the line through draft/FA, and I think it would be a massive difference

Come on, Fran Tarkenton was 50 fucking years ago, and the best they could do was .500. Stop with the quick fix, it isn't going to work. This mess needs more than a band aid.

Ok. If it means giving up the resources to rebuild the offensive line, no thank you

Sounds like a bad move to me. I think the Tarkington comparison above is a good assessment
I’d love to have him for the next 5 years.

If you were a fan then as I was. Tarkenton made you proud to be a Giants Fan again, and win or lose we were in every game
DO IT MARA!!!!!
We’re not starting a rebuild and we “tore it all down” 5 years ago and how has that worked out.
I don’t think rebuilding in the NFL involves becoming as bad as possible the same way it does in the NBA. I mean look at the bucs, the chiefs, ravens, pats etc.
They never were nearly as bad as we are right now and they’re all contenders.
Jones is a good soldier and Carroll a great teacher
Maybe we could eventually bring Jones back fixed like Minny did with Fran Tanrkenton
Minn and Mara made some kind of lend lease deal

But we didn't "tear it all down" 5 years ago. Management was convinced that 2017 was an outlier, and they could win a championship with Eli. That was the whole rationale for taking Barkley, that he was a pro-ready weapon to help Eli.
And they've been trying to fill in the gaps ever since. Trading valuable assets for an older QB would be more of the same.
The media will love it though.
We need a consultant like Dallas has with Gil Brandt
I have a candidate- Bill Parcells
Yep and he'd be hurt in camp and Jones would be the backup starting.
