I always looked forward to watching the James Bond marathons on TBS or Spike with my dad, brother and grandfather. It was great having them on in the background.
Ed O'Neil plays a much tamer version of Al Bundy who is tasked by his rich fiance to retrieve her snobby son from boarding school and bring him to the big dinner.

Wife had it on the other night, and I was stunned by the cameos of (current) moviestars who we saw in scene after scene. Addams Family Thanksgiving - ( New Window )
Movies I watched on Thanksgiving and movies involving and/or centered around Thanksgiving.
Movies watched: Far and away, March of the Wooden Soldiers (or Babes in Toyland as the other working title). This is the pre-colorized version. Unless the Giants were playing, which I think only happened once, this was the highlight of my Thanksgiving. A distant second was the original King Kong.
Movies involving Thanksgiving:
My first thought was Home for the Holidays - a very underrated film and Robert Downey Jr. was great in it...but so was the whole cast. I think this is the movie The Family Stone was trying to be and failed miseribly.
A close second was Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
The Big Chill and Dan In Real Life are two thumbs up in Moops Hollow.
I don't recall Dan in Real Life being a Thanksgiving movie.
Thanksgiving is not mentioned, but you've got everything else.
Fall family gathering for a long weekend with people coming from long distances.
Family morning walks on the beach.
Family football game on the lawn.
Huge family dinners.
Family games.
If that doesn't scream Thanksgiving I don't know what does.
You can't go wrong with Broadway Danny Rose. They work in the floats, the parade, have multiple references to his annual dinner, and then include it in the final scene in the movie.
