For sure, must listen to Pneuma live cam several times a week. There’s something about Ticks and Leeches that gets me every time though. His speed, power and precision is simply insane.

Such a great, underrated song. Love the drums, too.

Well done with the choice...
Bonham…
Brown_Hornet : 11/24/2021 10:59 pm : link
…is my favorite drummer and this isolated track is spot-on, shuffle beat perfection.

Thanks

Ian Paice is easily one of the most underrated drummers of all time.
Yes there has been better but if you actually listen to a lot of Deep Purple outside of the dozen songs that get radio play.
Some of the stuff he has played is incredible. It is a shame that he does not get his due credit.

As for a favorite. There are so many, but Scott Travis of Judas Priest playing Painkiller. Pure, raw power drumming. Easily up there for me.

IMO Peart is the king of the drumset!

…But Trampled Under Foot by Led Zep is amazing. Bonham is truly amazing on some of those fills.

How about Harold Simon Belsky?
M.S. : 11/25/2021 10:28 am : link

Better known as Hal Blaine. Not one song in particular but how about his session drumming on 150 US top 10 hits, 40 of which went to number one!

As for my favorite drummer, that’s easy: Ginger Baker.
After Ginger Baker

Gotta be the Dueling Devils Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead. Anything they did was great by me!

Clem Burke is great. Besides Blondie he played with all the biggies like Peter Townsend, Eurythemics, Dylan, The Ramones, and many others. Also in the R&R HOF.

so I can't speak to difficulty or how technical a drummer is but I always heard people rave about Jeff Picarro in general and especially on Rosanna (which he admits to basing it somewhat on Fool in the Rain), which made me a fan of Toto as a kid. Another that stands out to me is Jim Fox of James Gang with Funk #49.
Love Bonham on Fool in the Rain

And although he ebbs and flows on my nerves, Dave Grohl on Everlong is phenomenal
